Brilliant Bella

Please welcome Bella to the medium roll pack! =) Bella is a 3 year-old, 19 pound, chihuahua/Jack Russell terrier. Because Bella hasn't been exposed to many dogs, she wasn't sure what to think of The Fort. Although it took her some time to build up the courage to greet the others in medium roll, she seemed  to  relax and enjoy her time mingling. We look forward to having Bella return for lots of fun.

Have a nice day,
- Zach

McGinnis & Bella

Welcome McGinnis and Bella to Fort Fido. McGinnis is a 10-year-old Austrilian Sheppard and Bella is a 1 1/2 year-old Shih Tzu Mix. McGinnis strolled right on into medium roll while Bella confidently entered into small roll. They both found out right away that The Fort is all about having fun and that they can relax here. McGinnis may not have played a lot today but he enjoyed mingling and meeting the pack. Bella really enjoyed her time here and with some more time would surely play about with the others. We look forward to seeing both McGinnis and Bella return to Fort Fido for some more fun.

Stay cool and enjoy the weather,
- Zach

Happy Memorial Day!

Today we welcomed Pablo to The Fort. He is a 1 year old, 65 pound, black/white Pit Bull mix. Pablo did great for his first day, he came in this morning full of energy and ready to play.

In this clip Pablo is playing with Bella the boxer in the large roll. Also in this clip are Bonnie the Labrador Retriever Mix and Diego the Golden Retriever.

Have a great Memorial Day,

Busy Bella

Fort Fido had Bella in for her Assessment this morning. She is a two year old, forty-four pound, Black Labrador Retriever Mix. This strong and confident young dog-gal, did a great job inside of The Fort's Big Roll. After taking a few quick laps around the play area, Bella was ready and willing to meet the pack. She first met with the friendly Bounce, and the two hit it off into play quickly. As time passed and the Big Roll's Pack grew, Bella, continued to speak pretty good "Dog", and most importantly, continued to get along with the other canines. Once Mr. Reilly showed up onto the scene, Bella was "In Love" lol. These two really got to playing fiercely! We were even lucky enough to catch a video clip of the action.

Bella is a busy and hard-playing dog, however, she is also quite sweet, and socializes very well with others. We're happy to have her here and look forward to her return. Well done Bella!

Cheers,

-Grant

Happy St. Patrick's Day (Bella and Jolie)

Happy St. Patrick's Day to you all!

This last Saturday Fort Fido had two new canines in for their assessments...

Bella is a kindhearted, six year old, fifty pound, brown and white colored, Basset Hound. Once introduced, she responded well to the other dogs. She didn't do a whole lot of play, but she did socialize and wag her tail a lot. Bella has a very sweet disposition and is perfect for the Medium Roll

Jolie is a striking, six year old, fifty pound, black colored, Standard Poodle. Now Jolie was a bit shy at first, yet she warmed up after a bit of time. She didn't interact as much as Bella, however she did meet and greet with several different dogs in the Medium Roll. We hope to see Jolie branch out some more in future visits. She is a very good looking dog that'll be great to have around.

We are happy to have both Bell and Jolie joining our pack at The Fort, nice job gals!

Have a good day and a safe celebration,

-Grant

Two new dogs!

This last Saturday, we assessed Cooper. He is a darn-cute, three month old, twelve pound, Black Labrador Retriever. Cooper did really well here with the Medium Roll pack. He is a very sweet and exited young puppy, eager to please and play. Cooper got along nicely, becoming pals with Pepper (to no surprise) and Seamus.

Bella had her assessment this morning. She is a beautiful, nine month old, 55 pound, Sheepadoodle. Bella tried out both The Big, and Medium Rolls. After a bit of time, she ended up feeling right at home with the Medium Roll Pack. There, Bella wagged and engaged in a bit of play with a few different canines (including Cooper). It was a great first visit for Bella.

Both Cooper and Bella are welcome back here to The Fort anytime. We can't wait to have them in again.

You can catch a glimpse of Bella and Cooper in the following clip.

Take care,

-Grant

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday to everyone, hopefully you had a wonderful 4th. The dogs had a great time here, and thankfully, slept well.

I have two cute clips for you today.

Josie, Marlee, Seamus and Wubs (AKA Faramir) had a lot of Ball Time fun together, this morning, in the Little Roll.

After Independence Day excitement, Bear (Baer) and Jasper were just ready to "Chillax". How precious haha.

Also, I watched this cool clip on Youtube's "Most Viewed" the other day. It's a Dog Goldberg Machine, you know, "Rube Goldberg style", but with dogs haha! It's very rad, however, I will say this... And I'm ok with saying it... Beneful (Purina) stinks! Solely "my personal opinion" of course lol.

At least try this food for your canine companion instead.

;)

Have a wonderful weekend,

-Grant

Blue-ribbon Bella!

Howdy, meet Bella! She is a sweet, six year old, white and brown colored, English Bulldog. Bella had her assessment today in the Big Roll. This convivial dog was ready for anything. She was very eager to bask in the commingling of canine fun that is The Fort. Bella took pleasure in her assessment right from the get go. She is very well mannered, and has a happy disposition. Bella speaks great dog, she socialized and played readily. This fine dog specimen has truly enjoyed experiencing Fort Fido today. We are quite pleased to add another "good egg" to our basket... I mean Pack!

;)

Be well,

- Titan -

Meet Titan! He is a adorable, three month old, twenty-five pound Rottweiler. This young pup did well for his first day. He even played a good bit in the Medium Roll. Titan is welcome to attend The Fort anytime... And we definitely hope he will. He is going to be one large and powerful canine, honing his social skills here at Fort Fido will be quite beneficial to him. One neat fact about Titan, is that his "cousin" is Big Roll longtime-regular, Miss Bella The Boxer. She is the perfect teacher for Titan. I'm certain their paths will cross in here soon!

Take care,

-Grant
P.S. Ah! I can't forget these three short but sweet clips of Titan, introducing himself to Dolly, early this morning.

Some Clips

It's been a busy day around here. Everyone has been working extra hard to get our overnight boarding plans in gear. There is lots of planning, marketing and running around to do before Memorial Day weekend in May... That is when we will be kicking off our 24/7 canine care operation, how exciting!

I'm going to post some clips now, that is all lol.

Miss Bella "The Dane" returned for a visit today. She's bigger and happier than ever. Bella played with lots of dogs in the Big Roll pack, taking quite a liking to Gus... Boy is he popular!

Also in the Big Roll, Grady, was being his normal happy-go-lucky self. He is a great dog, pay no attention to the fact that he looks like he is getting "beat-up" in this clip haha. Grady goes a million miles an hour while playing, sometimes the pack needs to slow him down a notch. This helps us and it is a good thing!

New Mastiff pup Tilly showed up this morning. She is doing mighty fine, making many new friends, including Terrier Bad-Boy "Lil Gus".

Take care,

-Grant

Bubba, Max and Sam were an unstoppable trio of pals most of the day.

Last but not least, the Littles.

Buddy and Chloe go at it.

The chase is on in this one with Chloe for the win Haha! She usually steals the show up there, always doing something fun.

Happy Friday y'all, have a nice weekend,

Cheerful Chaco!

Chaco is a cute little three-and-a-half year old Havanese. Since he started out on a Saturday, he got to spend his day with a mix of sizes. From little Lilly (the assessment dog yesterday), to Lila and Blue, and a couple in between! The smaller guys were very confident, even in with the big ones. While he didn't bust out too many of the moves, Chaco had a few flash-in-the-pan moments of play. He also had a lot of tail-wagging and good greeting. This is a pup who was socialized well in his puppy days.

Also from today: a good clip of everybody sharing toys!

Everybody enjoy this nice summery weekend!

A soggy summer day...

At least we are all nice and dry inside The Fort. ;)

Three clips from today.

Two from the Medium Roll.

New Poodle Boover took a liking to Mr. Koji, I believe the feeling was mutual.

Bella (Tod) and puppin Zeus were at it again today. The two are becoming best buddies.

In the Big Roll, young Berner Gem was really having a blast. Here she is tumbling around with Fort Fido regular Denali.

Stay dry, I hope that summer gets back here in a jif!

Video Clips

Two from the Big Roll.

Abby and Stella are two frequent visitors of The Fort. They are best buddies, knowing how to play hard and fast... Sometimes we have to step in and slow them down a bit ;) . These two swell dogs deffinitely get in a full-body workout everyday they are here.

Two young shepherds, Jake and Ziva, had a bit of a love-affair today. It's neat to see the two playing together. Osbourne ends this one with a wind-sprint lol.

Two from our Medium Roll as well.

Miss Bella (check her gorgeous photo out on another website) and young rebel-rouser Zeus demonstrated their fair and balanced play early in the afternoon.

Meanwhile... Emily, Gibson and Jaeger were a surprising trio that got along well.

Take it easy,

-Grant

wrestling clips of the day

One from the Medium Roll featuring a hard to beat tag-team of Lab pup Emily and Black Pug Cooper. Those two were battling it out against Fort Fido old timers Bella and Lucy. From this clip it sure looks like Emily and Cooper will be walking away with the title hahaha!

Upstairs was a triple-threat-match with Little Buddy, Miss Mia and the original Bad-Boy Miller. I'm not too sure who the victor was in this one, the only thing I do know is that this trio should sleep well tonight!

Take care,

-Grant

1 big 2 med

Here are a couple of good ones from the Medium Roll. The first is of Barkley and Mimi egging on Miss Phoenix, very funny! Although it looks a bit "wild" in this clip, they are all buddies. The second clip shows Bella and Gibby having some fun while Chance and Lucy do the same in the corner. It sure was a good medium group today.

Our last clip is a bit of neck fighting from the Big Roll this morning. It features Boxers Stella and Sam rolling around with Black Lab Truman.

Bouncing Bella

This morning's assessment was Bella. She is a loving, one year old, fifty-three pound, apricot/cream colored, Labradoodle. Bella did an amazing job today, she went right to playing, spoke good "dog" and seemed to enjoy herself tremendously. Bella will be a superb addition to Fort Fido's Medium Roll. We hope to see her attend regularly. Nice job today Bella!

I hope your week is off to a great start, spring is here woo-hoo!

Happy Valentines day, good news and bad news...

First off, I'd like to wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day. I hope you all have a nice one!

I'll start off with my good news... This morning we assessed Bella. She is a one year old, thirty-nine pound, Chocolate Brown, Standard Poodle. Bella did outstanding today, she spoke great "Dog" and even played with a few different pooches in the Medium Roll. She will be a fine addition to our Medium Pack and sure compliments Jaz and Peaches well. We have had a super track record here (or have gotten lucky) with female Standard Poodles, they've been excellent pack members so far.

Now for some very upsetting news, my apologizes... Fort Fido regular (he came almost every day) Hunter was killed by a Pit Bull on Saturday afternoon (2/12/11). It happened in his neighborhood, two Pit Bulls were roaming off leash. One of the dogs attacked Hunter viscouly and then ran off. The authorities were able to capture the other dog but haven't found the culprit.

Hunter put up a good fight to live at the emergency vet, he hung in there for eleven hours before finally crossing over the Rainbow Bridge. The saddest part for us is that he played here on Saturday morning, we just spent time with him! So, it is a little gloomy around here, very surreal and frustrating for all involved. Fort Fido has never experienced a loss quite like this. Our hearts go out to Hunter's owners Bonnie and Bob, we are so very sorry for your loss. Please take it easy!

With that said, again, have a nice Valentine's Day.

-Grant
P.S. Please note, we do not wish to debate the matter but Fort Fido Doggie Daycare does not except Pit Bulls. We are not stating that they are bad dogs. We are just being clear about our policy here.

I Also wanted to leave you with links to a couple of our Hunter clips. Happy Hunter and Other Fiends & Happy Friday (Hunter playing with Fendi and others).
