Lucky Leiko!

This weekend we are lucky enough to have Leiko, the Labrador and Shepherd mix. He is an adorable puppy of only 12 weeks, and shows it in his amazing attitude. Always seeking a good romp, Cayenne was overjoyed to welcome this pup and showed him a good time frolicking around in the Med. Roll. I managed to get a couple great clips of their fun. Enjoy!

Here is a super cute clip of when Leiko and Cayenne were still figuring out each other's play style, and I must say that these two are going to be great pals as the days go on.

Another quick clip here that I wanted to share of these two pups ripping it up some more.

On a more serious note, another massive pet food recall is in effect. Be aware that If you have any "Natura Pet Food" products, throw them out immediately.

For more information including how to get a full refund, and a full list of their products please visit this page : http://www.abc2news.com//dpp/news/national/massive-pet-food-recall-announced#ixzz2YyduYh5V

And just a quick reminder that Fort Fido does carry Kumpi (follow link for info and testimonials) dog/cat food which is held to the highest baking standards and has NEVER been recalled.

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday to everyone, hopefully you had a wonderful 4th. The dogs had a great time here, and thankfully, slept well.

I have two cute clips for you today.

Josie, Marlee, Seamus and Wubs (AKA Faramir) had a lot of Ball Time fun together, this morning, in the Little Roll.

After Independence Day excitement, Bear (Baer) and Jasper were just ready to "Chillax". How precious haha.

Also, I watched this cool clip on Youtube's "Most Viewed" the other day. It's a Dog Goldberg Machine, you know, "Rube Goldberg style", but with dogs haha! It's very rad, however, I will say this... And I'm ok with saying it... Beneful (Purina) stinks! Solely "my personal opinion" of course lol.

At least try this food for your canine companion instead.

;)

Have a wonderful weekend,

-Grant

Here Kitty, kitty...

Kumpi Kat Food is just as awesome as Kumpi Dog Food. We have carried it for a couple of years now and we have several happy Cat Customers. I have had my three year old cat, Hobbs, on it for quite some time and he looks fabulous! My 20 year old cat just recently passed away, R.I.P. Missy, but was on Kumpi Kat for at least two years... And I'm convinced Kumpi Kat Food is what kept her going strong right up to the end.

The cat food has been available in four pound and twenty pound sizes. The funny thing, is that the four pound size never seemed like enough food, while the twenty pound size always felt like wayyy too much. Evy, owner of Kumpi, has discontinued the 20# bag in favor of a very convenient, resealable, sixteen pound size.

(New sixteen pound cat food on left.)

So, if you have a cat or cats, definitely give Kumpi Kat a go. I'm certain your Feline Friends will thank you, and you'll thank Kumpi!

Take it easy,

-Grant

A Thursday Of Clips

A new shipment of Kumpi is in, along with some righteous new Antler Chews (three sizes) and a bundle of Bully Sticks (Three sizes as well). Good times, I like the feeling of being all "stocked up".

Three Rolls, three clips.

From the Little Roll, your average cross section of funtastic play that has been going on and off for hours.

In the Medium Roll, Barkley and Diego are always best friends. Today was no exception.

The Big Roll welcomed back Miss Abby. She wasted no time today, getting right straight to play!

Take care,

-Grant
P.S. Don't forget to like us on Facebook! ;) Thanks!

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Today I just wanted to say, we are very lucky here at Fort Fido. We have outstanding customers, wonderful dogs, a nice facility, a tremendous, well-seasoned staff, fun training classes, a food we can sleep at night selling and a great reputation! Wow, there is a lot of "horn to toot" hahaha, the list goes on and on...

As I reflect on 2011, I realize that it was a pivotal year for The Fort. It was our fifth year in business (some folk say you've "made it" when you hit that number) which was hallmarked by winning Best Doggy Daycare in the South Puget Sound by South Sound Magazine. Time has gone by so fast. It feels like only yesterday Dad (David) was saying, "Man your Battle Stations!", in all seriousness, while anticipating an eight dog day. Hahaha! My how we have grown, learned and improved over these last five. We shall continue to do so! I can't say what the future will bring. However, I can promise that Fort Fido will continue to provide a superior Dog Daycare service to all in the coming years.

As always, we here in "dog land" lol thank you all for your business and support, past years, this year and years to come! We (our whole staff included) take pride in what we do and hope that it shows through in our efforts.

With that said, have a safe and happy New Year's Celebration. Best wishes to you and yours for 2012. The wife and I will probably be checking out First Night. There was good fireworks one year down by Ruston Way, might do that too. The Fort is open tomorrow with it's regular Saturday hours (9am - 6pm). It's a perfect day to get some energy out of your pups before the festivities begin. Drop on in!

Cheers!

-Grant
P.S. We have received a couple of grand new reviews on Yelp and Google. You can check them out here and here. Feel free to help us bring in the New Year by letting the world know how awesome Fort Fido is! ;)

My wife has been using Yelp quite a bit, she enjoys reviewing restaurants and other businesses with it on her iPhone. Believe it or not, I can hardly work one of those darn things. Gary programs apps for them! Maybe we need to get some type of Fort Fido App going someday, not sure how many use them? A reminder/alarm to pick up your pet? Schedule and pay over the phone? Hmmm...

Also, if you have worked with everyone's favorite Dog Trainer, Garrett Stevens, please leave him a supportive review as well. Garrett has launched his new website recently. His business is continuing to thrive and he is gaining much popularity in the South Sound. Way to go Garrett!

Kumpi Day

In 1997 Evy Serpa lost her dog Kumpi to cancer when he was only five. This dog expert of over thirty years contracted with a premier nutritionist to create a product line. She was surprised at how far beyond the current concept of premium one could go.

Hey everyone! I hope you all had a nice Holiday, we sure did. Got to checkout Warhorse. It was a pretty good film, although there weren't any dogs in it lol.

Kumpi arrived today so we've been a bit busy. We apologize for any inconveniences due to it's late arrival. We've been out of the twenty pound bags for a couple of weeks now. Luckily that is over and we are all stocked-up now. Thank you for your patience.

Here are a few neat bits from the web I've spotted today.

Ask Dog Lady

Lost Blind Dog Returned Home

Dog Saves Family From House Fire

Dog Wearing Pants Does Something Amazing (Video)

Dogs May Tell Much About A Man

I'll leave you with a fun clip of Tikvah and Miss Phoebe doing what they do best in the Medium Roll.

Take it easy,

Kumpi Shipment Day

Our multi-ton Kumpi shipment was finally delivered today, woo-hoo!

The shipping container we use has been amazing for storage/protection. Another new tool that has been worth it's weight in gold (and mind you, it's heavy lol) is a custom loading ramp we had Grainger build for us. No more hand-stacking with this baby, thank god, the pallet jack can now roll right up the ramp and into the shipping container with a few hefty pushes. Hooray!

What used to take three people an hour or so is now taking two people twenty minutes, good show guys! :)

Warning, Kumpi Plug Time:

We have a huge number of dogs thriving off of Kumpi Dog Food. We can't recommend it enough. Do your pet a favor, educate yourself (visit the website or call the president, Evy, directly 303-693-6533) about their nutrition and get them on Kumpi. It's all about the health of the dogs and quality ingredients. It's trully the science of nutrion and not the "hype". Also, they have never had a recall, ever! It's a company you can trust and that is why we are on board with them.

Have a nice weekend,

-Grant
P.S. Here is a link to a great Kumpi fan site Kumpi Love, check it out and just in case you missed Hopes great article on Dog Food here that is... President/Owner of Kumpi, Evy, loved Hope's article so I'll say it again, too cool!

Pooped!

(Click Photos to Enlarge)

Some shots from the Kumpi locker today... Four tons, our biggest order yet (each pallet-full is one ton), that's a lot of stackin lol. So many dogs we know are doing so well on the food, it is amazing!

Before next order we will be constructing some type of ramp to get the food from the Semi Truck Trailer to the Storage Container without having to haul each bag by hand. Hey, I gottta save pop's back for a few more years some how right? ;) Hahaha!

Cheers,

-Grant
P.S. Gotta thank our delivery driver, he really tried his darnedest to get those pallets straight into the locker before giving up... He also gave us some tips on how to throw together the ramp. Thanks!

All aboard ! ! !

There is another new puppy in the house! Long time Fort Fido supporter Finny has got a new member in his pack. His name is Ozzie and he's just a wee Yellow Lab baby right now, he's not even ready for The Fort yet. Finn and Ozzie's owner Rob sent me this great clip of them playing together from his cell phone. What technology lol! When I converted the clip to play on the computer the quality went down, my apologies, either way it's cute!

Take it easy,

-Grant
P.S. If you haven't already, checkout Finn's Website. It's for a great cause. Also, checkout the Kumpi Pet Food site. I talked to Evy yesterday and she said she added some neat stuff. Specifically the "False Science Alert" at the top, definitely read that. By the way, Kumpi is Gluten-Free and has never had a recall ever, that's huge! :)

FFFFriday

It has been a busy week for us here at Fort Fido but or course that is a good thing. March tends to be our busiest month at The Fort and things are already picking up as we get halfway through February. There has been a number of new dogs and old dogs returning... We have also been busy sprucing up for our open house on Sunday March 6th. We hope that you all will attend. We truly appreciate your continuous support.

Evy (kumpi@earthlink.net), owner of Kumpi emailed me a impressive video clip. Check it out here. What a neat trick, that dog can really dunk! He dribbles darn good too!

I'll leave you with a snippet from today's Medium Roll starring Rainier, Walter, Romeo, Otto and Sophie-Alice. With special appearances by Barkley's and Chewy's head haha.

Have a great weekend,

-Grant
P.S. Nobody forget Valentines Day now! Your special sweetie could get miffed if you did lol, it is this coming Monday the 14th, as usual. I'm glad I have just reminded myself. ;)

A busy day!

Another busy day was had here at The Fort. We just got done unloading our three ton Kumpi shipment. Lucky for us we just missed a big soaking! :)

Earlier today we had Troubador in for his assessment. He is a two year old, seventy-five pound, retired racing, Greyhound. His owners got him from Royal Hounds Greyhound adoption. Troubador is one sharp looking pooch, he is black with a white star on his chest. He came into the Big Roll today and did well, this guy spoke great "Dog". Let's just say (as we like to around here), it wasn't Trou's first time at the rodeo lol. Fine job today Troubador, we hope to see you again soon!

Stay dry out there,

-Grant

Showin some Kumpi Love...

President of Kumpi Pet Food, Evy, has just launched her new website and it looks outstanding! You can get all the info and see the new look at www.kumpi.com.

Evy also told us about a great new Kumpi Fan Site called Kumpi Love. The site is full of great stories, testimonials and charming photos from fans/customers.

If you haven't already, get your pet on Kumpi! It's a pet food company you can trust... You gotta do your research, there is a plethora of false information out there in the mainstream media. Read some of the articles on the Kumpi site and talk to us for more info or call Evy (303-693-6533, kumpi@earthlink.net), the phone number rings right at her house! Good luck getting a hold of the president of any other pet food company lol. :)

Gadzooks it's Gabe!

Gabe came him for his assessment this morning. He is a dapper, 1 year old, 40 pound, mixed breed that was a doggie daycare regular in Illinois. We tried Gabe out in the Medium Roll where he absolutely flourished. He had a grand time, we are pleased that he will be attending The Fort.

Our phenomenal food Kumpi came in today... Just got done unloading it, I'm spent lol!

Take care,

-Grant

A message from Kumpi Kids, "Send in your stories and photos!".

Yesterday I mentioned Kumpi Kids and sent in a photo of my cat Hobbs (who is one of my two cats, both doing awesome on Kumpi Kat food). I met the owner of the Kumpi Kids site Robert. He was really cool, here is what he said:

"Good morning! Thanks for the link to our site! Your beautiful cat will be up on the site soon. In fact any Kumpi fan can send us photos, stories, videos, etc... and we will be posting them! Just choose the Email Us link at the top of the page and follow the instructions."

Anywho, I hope some of you out there on the Kumpi train will send in some photos and stories to Robert. Let me know if you do! If you are new to Kumpi check it out, I reccommend calling up or emailing the founder and head cheese Evy (303-693-6533) with any questions or concerns... She is spectacular! This food is VERY hard to beat if you've done your homework.

Cheers,

-Grant

Jake & Lila

Just a clip of Jake & Lila having a good 'ol time in the Medium Roll today!

In other news, I was surprised to find this article on MSN's homepage the other day. I don't want to alarm anyone but it is interesting... We've heard many odd stories regarding veterinary care. Please just be cautious and don't get taken on a ride ($$$) just because it tugs at the heart strings.

* Look out, the following is a Kumpi plug/rant, yes we sell it and the reason... We can trust it! *

If a vet clinic encourages you to put your dog on a "special food" or "prescription diet" be wary, educate yourself first (it's all about money and "The Man" man lol). Kumpi may not be the cure all solution for pet food but it's NEVER had a recall and every batch goes through extensive testing for pathogens, freshness and quality of ingredients (to not ever have a recall). It's made in the USA and there are no ingredients from China. The money is spent on the food, not on fancy marketing. In short, just because your dog's food is from The Vet doesn't necessarily mean it's right or healthy (Cough! Hills Science Diet. Cough!).

* Off rant lol *

We won't get me started on Doctors lol! Have a good weekend,

-Grant

Bath Towel Dog

Evy, the Kumpi president, sent me this one and it's too funny! Watch out, don't step on him! Hehe.

Take it easy,

-Grant
P.S. Here is the info link for the Shar-Pei.
