Please Welcome Hershey & Bodie to The Fort

This morning, The Fort welcomed two chipper new recruits. Meet Hershey and Bodie!

Hershey is a fit, fifteen year old, thirteen pound, Miniature Pinscher Mix.

Bodie is a darling, five year old, thirteen pound, Maltese Mix.

These two were just a whole lot of fun upstairs today. They waltzed into the lobby, then play area, with ease, as if they'd done it a million times before. They've been socialized very well over the years, and it shows. Hershey and Bodie have quite happy and fun-loving spirits. These two likeable canines socialized and fit into the pack right away. Thankfully, Fort Fido regular Seamus, sent Hershey and Bodie our way, and luckily, they all got to pal-up together this morning.

Both Hershey and Bodie will make excellent additions to our Little Roll... Besides, they're darn right cute too!

Two new dogs!

This last Saturday, we assessed Cooper. He is a darn-cute, three month old, twelve pound, Black Labrador Retriever. Cooper did really well here with the Medium Roll pack. He is a very sweet and exited young puppy, eager to please and play. Cooper got along nicely, becoming pals with Pepper (to no surprise) and Seamus.


Bella had her assessment this morning. She is a beautiful, nine month old, 55 pound, Sheepadoodle. Bella tried out both The Big, and Medium Rolls. After a bit of time, she ended up feeling right at home with the Medium Roll Pack. There, Bella wagged and engaged in a bit of play with a few different canines (including Cooper). It was a great first visit for Bella.

Both Cooper and Bella are welcome back here to The Fort anytime. We can't wait to have them in again.

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday to everyone, hopefully you had a wonderful 4th. The dogs had a great time here, and thankfully, slept well.

I have two cute clips for you today.

Josie, Marlee, Seamus and Wubs (AKA Faramir) had a lot of Ball Time fun together, this morning, in the Little Roll.

 

 

After Independence Day excitement, Bear (Baer) and Jasper were just ready to "Chillax". How precious haha.

Also, I watched this cool clip on Youtube's "Most Viewed" the other day. It's a Dog Goldberg Machine, you know, "Rube Goldberg style", but with dogs haha! It's very rad, however, I will say this... And I'm ok with saying it... Beneful (Purina) stinks! Solely "my personal opinion" of course lol.

At least try this food for your canine companion instead.

Early this morning I found this link from MSN. It talks a bit about Hybrid Dog Breeds and their current popularity. I would certainly agree, the majority of Fort Fido dogs are mixed, "Designer Breeds", as we like to call them. They can be super-dogs for a variety of reasons. Some are even hypoallergenic! The Designer Breeds all seem to have Hybrid Vigor that combats the fussy physical problems many purebred breeds experience. Not all folks agree with that theory but this guy does. ;)

Up first, Maximus and Fort long-timer Murphy had a blast together today in the Big Roll.



New pup Kona has been loving it in the Medium Roll, there is ALWAYS someone to play with in that group!



From the Little Roll we have a strong trio battling it out, Chloe, Koji and Pearl. Not surprised by that one lol.

P.S. If you are looking for some family-fun this weekend, checkout the Enumclaw Christmas Parade this Saturday evening. My Pipe Band, among others, will be there. It should prove to be a real fun time for all, albeit, cold!

We are back!

Hi there, I hope everyone had a great break and Holiday, we sure did. Now we are back in action and ready to rock!

Seamus is a Cocker Spaniel / Bichon Frise that has been coming to Fort Fido since we first opened. We call him the "Little Lamb" cause he is so darn cute, like a little lamb lol. He is almost 4 years old, around 15 pounds and is a light apricot color. Seamus loves coming to the fort and runs up to the little roll faster than any other pup. He is quite agile and athletic, jumping super high for his size. His owner Mary sent me a link to this great video, check it out, it got me in the Xmas spirit with a good chuckle. Thanks Mary!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Please remember that we are closed tomorrow (Thanksgiving Thursday 11/26/09) and Friday (11/27/09). We are open for business Saturday (11/28/09).
