We got some really great clips of our dogs in action today, in every size! In the little roll, ball time was the main attraction, and all the ladies up there were having a really great time. Frizzy dominated, as usual, though Marlee was close behind her trying to edge in on the game. Dixie and Oreo mostly enjoy chasing the other dogs, which ball time is a great opportunity for!
In the medium roll, Avi and Jackson were back at it again-- these two just can't keep away from each other. Size definitely doesn't matter to these two, they play just fine despite their differences. We could all learn a thing or two from that!
Big dogs Zipper and Buddy were peas in a pod, just a couple of hound-dogs. Good thing that they were playing all the time, not crying all the time! Not any crying at all ;-)

It's kinda slow in here today, due to the Holiday and all but it makes for a nice Monday lol. There was still lots of doggy fun to be had because we got to mix and match some of our pack. I'd say Buddy and Koji had the most fun being able to be downstairs in the Medium Roll. It's fun to allow the dogs that are into it to "Run with the Big Dogs". :)

Early this morning I found this link from MSN. It talks a bit about Hybrid Dog Breeds and their current popularity. I would certainly agree, the majority of Fort Fido dogs are mixed, "Designer Breeds", as we like to call them. They can be super-dogs for a variety of reasons. Some are even hypoallergenic! The Designer Breeds all seem to have Hybrid Vigor that combats the fussy physical problems many purebred breeds experience. Not all folks agree with that theory but this guy does. ;)

New pup Kona has been loving it in the Medium Roll, there is ALWAYS someone to play with in that group!
From the Little Roll we have a strong trio battling it out, Chloe, Koji and Pearl. Not surprised by that one lol.

I found this article a bit ago on King 5 News and wanted to point it out to everyone. Most of you are likely aware of this already.
In short, don't feed any raw or smoked Salmon to your canine companion. It has the potential of really hurting them and is possibly fatal. What a shame, I love the stuff any way it's prepared (yes, even raw lol) and could see myself breaking Gibby off a tiny piece in the right circumstances... Me saving it for him, waiting until he is around, giving him a command and then letting him enjoy it. Of course, of course! ;)
Some clips scored today: Gordo tries out the Big Roll again and Koji, Zachary and Zoey have became quite a cute trio of pals.
Here we have Koji ripping it up with Walter, Niko and Trevor. It's The Fort at it's absolute best. Those guys are going to be tired tonight!
In our second clip we have Miss Mandy messing around with Trevor. What's so amazing about it is that Mandy is 12 years old! She has been going to doggie daycare since she was a puppy and still has a blast. Maybe you can teach an old dog a new trick?
Double trouble here in the Big Roll :) ! Too funny, two sets of Yellow Lab / Black Lab buddies going at it at once (Pepper & Ryker, Truman & Buddy). McGee the Boxer gets in the mix as well!
Next we have Koji and Abby having a stupendous romp around, opposites attract!
Why are they outstanding, you ask? Because half of the dogs featured our newer to the fort, just finding there groove and beginning to play... Our favorite moments down here. :)
Koji had his assessment this morning and boy is he a nifty little guy. Koji is a one year old, 12 pound, red and white, Rat Terrier mix. He started out in our Medium Roll because he is a dog that can go-go-go, chase games are his favorite. Koji is a rescue dog who has "been through the mill". Good thing he's scored a new owner and a loving home, way to go!
