Welcome Piper! Piper is an 8 month-old, 60 lbs., Doberman. She came into Fort Fido curious, wanting to explore our lobby more as she was being directed into our Large Dog Program and within our program Piper met many other pups, one of these pups being Snickerdoodles. Snickerdoodles and Piper played to the end of days and had a wonderful time just relaxing and romping during her time here today. Piper passed her assessment and is welcome to return to Fort Fido for more fun and to make many more new friends.

Have a wonderful day,

Boejangles "Boe" Hurricane

Today we had the joy of meeting Boejangles "Boe" Hurricane. Boe is a 5 month-old, 33 lbs., Golden Doodle. Boe entered Fort Fido interested, investigating us and meeting new pups right away in our Large Dog Program. Boe was a tad bit shy today which is totally understandable, he met many other dogs throughout his stay here at The Fort. He began to open up more towards the end of his assessment day with help from the other pups. I think Boe would benefit from further attending so he can open up even more and make some good friends to play with.

Have a wonderful day,

Daisy & Snickers

On Tuesday we had the pleasure of meeting Daisy. She's a Golden Retriever/Labrador
mix that is eight years old and weighs forty nine pounds. Daisy just moved here not too long ago so she was a little cautious and shy at first- being in a new place and meeting all these new faces can do that to you. But once she got more familiar with the Medium Roll and started mingling amongst her new friends, she realized that Fort Fido is a fun and safe place for her to hang out.

This little cutie above joined us this morning. Snickers is a confident, two year old, Jack Russell Terrier Mix that weighs thirteen pounds. As dogs were arriving for daycare this morning, he was quick to make sure that he met all of them; sniffing away and wagging his tail, he showed great dog speak

Daisy and Snickers are both welcome to come back  to The Fort whenever they like.
Enjoy the rest of your evening everyone!

Moon & Shamus

Our first Egyptian Pharaoh Hound came and joined The Fort on Tuesday. Moon is 1 year old and weighs 38 pounds. She did exceptionally well on her first day and hit it off with one of our regulars, Max . We were able to capture Moon and Max playing as they galloped around our large roll, looking majestic as can be.
One of the first things we noticed about Moon was her super tall, pointy ears. Did you know that Egyptian Pharaoh's ears are all natural? There is no clipping involved like other breeds such as the Doberman Pinscher.Sometimes breeders will use tape to help hold up a floppy ear when the puppy matures. Take a look at the clip below to see Moon playing with her new buddy.

Check out this cutie, Shamus. Shamus came in this morning bright and early, ready to see what The Fort is all about, and meet his new daycare buddies in our Small Dog Program. He is an eight year old, twenty-one pound King Charles Spaniel. Once it was time for us to start throwing our balls around with the pups, Shamus got very curious and instantly went over to inspect these new, exciting toys.

Moon and Shamus are both welcome to come back any time they want.
I hope you all are enjoying this beautiful weather, because I sure am!
Have a good night,
~Shaunte

I could still use some more breakfast but the food didn't pass the assessment. I will be talking about the pup Snickerdoodles whom did pass our assessment and is a 1 year-old, 45 lbs., Staffordshire Terrier (not a snack lol). She came in energetic and ready to explore our Large Dog Program. She began to meet the other pups casually as they came in and was able to get acquainted with The Fort. We hope to see Snickerdoodles return soon to make more friends.

Grizzly "Bear"

No, this is not the Grizzly I am talking about =)

This is the handsome Grizzly (with less claws) that assessed today. He is a 1.5 year-old, 80 lbs., Labrador/Shepherd Mix. At first Grizzley did not know The Fort, so he sniffed around and began to meet the other dogs within the large roll. As he began meeting the pups, he slowly learned that he could relax and enjoy his time here with his new friends (since he is not a bear). Grizzley spent the majority of his time mingling and socializing with the pack.

We hope to see Grizzley return soon,

Daisy & Ruxin

Yesterday morning we had Daisy come in for her assessment. Daisy is a 7 year-old, 9.5 pound, Shih-Tzu. After entering the front door and sniffing about in the lobby shortly, Daisy made her way up into the small roll. I noticed that after some other pups entered, she was relaxing more. Daisy socialized about yesterday and we hope to see her return soon.
Ruxin investigated Fort Fido today upon his arrival. He is an 8 month-old, 45 pound, Australian Shepard Mix. He was not quite sure, being his first day and all, where he was or what to do. Ruxin soon learned that he could mingling about and socializing was the name of the game here at The Fort. Ruxin will be boarding with us this weekend and he's sure to have a fantastic time.

Leroy & Bruno

Today we met Leroy, a 1.5 yr old 70-pound lab. Leroy came into Fort Fido curious with his nose working 'round the clock. I noticed as he began to socialize with the other dogs that he was making friends and got too excited a couple of times. The rest of the pack helped to calm him down throughout his time here and he made some lasting connections today.

Yesterday we welcomed Bruno. Bruno is an 8 year-old, 5-pound chihuahua. He slowly entered into the small roll curious and met the other pack members. I saw that Bruno mingled about taking his time meeting the other pups. He seemed content after snuggling up next to his new doggie friends. I think that Bruno would enjoy some more socialization.

We look forward to having Leroy and Bruno return.

Have a nice afternoon,
- Zach

Lucy & Maggie May

This morning we welcomed Lucy. She is a 3 month-old, 12 pound, Goldendoodle cutie. As soon as she came in the front door of Fort Fido she was sniffing about and having a grand time looking around. She then entered the medium roll with high morale. Lucy got to mingle throughout the entire medium roll making a lot of new friends. Lucy has had a marvelous time and got to associate The Fort with fun and socialization. We are looking forward to having her return for more fun.

We had a magnificent time welcoming the charming Maggie May to Fort Fido yesterday. She is a 65-pound, 1 year-old, German Shepard mix. Maggie May was curious as she entered Fort Fido yesterday and took her time sniffing around. After taking that time to pick up what The Fort was about, she began to play with Daisey (See the video below!) and had a fabulous time romping about in the large roll. Maggie just relished her time here and we look forward to seeing her return for more fun.
