Tucker & Maisy

Yesterday we had the kindly, Tucker, in for his Assessment. He is a one year old, seventy-two pound, Labrador Retriever and German Short-haired Pointer Mix. Recently acquired from an elderly couple, big-boy Tucker, has got a wonderful new forever-home, with great new owners that are willing and able to meet his needs. This lucky dude did quite well in The Fort's Big Roll. Inside the play area, he explored hastily, ready to get on with things, and meet some other canines. We introduced him to Jackson first, and the two dogs hit it off like gangbusters! Throughout his stay, Tucker continued to do well, play, and stay social. We believe he can extract much out of the Dog Daycare environment, and we hope to see him regularly. Great job Tucker!

Check out Tucker having fun in these two clips:

This morning we welcomed the elegant-looking Miss Maisy. She is a one year old, twelve pound, Alaskan Klee Kai. Now this is a breed that Fort Fido Co-owner, Nancy (she's a huge Spitz Breed fan lol), and others, have been dying to get to know for years. It's awesome that we are finally getting the chance to.

We had Maisy give our Little Roll a go, and once therein, she acted surprisingly calm and balanced while figuring out the place. Once the Small Dog Pack began to show up, Maisy greeted the members well, albeit a bit aloofly. Maisy didn't end up playing this morning, however, she really did a fine job of becoming part of the pack, and working out all of the personalities that it contains. Given time and consistency, we know Maisy can enjoy her time spent here even more. Good stuff.

Take it easy,

All about that action!

We took some first-rate clips today....

Upstairs, it was business as usual in the Little Roll.

Pancake and Bailey became new pals in the Medium Roll Play Area...

And the Big Roll had it's normal share of pretty much nonstop dog-play-action. Oliver, Espy, Chedder, Jackson, Nevada, Della, Ryker and Reilly, just to name a few, were having a good old time.

Today, I'd also like to add this awesome clip of our boy, Brix, picking this year's Super Bowl Winner.

Hahaha, very cool, good on ya boy, GO HAWKS! Thanks to Brix's owner, Lisa, for sending this in.

I'll cap this post off with one dog-funny I saw this morning.

Here's "Patient dog entertains baby goat"

Take care,

-Grant
P.S. If you have any fun pictures or videos of your canine buddy(s), please email them to me so we can show them off on the Blog, we love doing that!

Cooper

This morning Fort Fido's Team had Cooper in for his Assessment Day. He is a handsome, five year old, sixty-five pound, Chocolate Labrador Retriever. Even though he is a Dog Daycare veteran, Cooper, wasn't quite sure what we had in store for him here at The Fort. He was a bit nervous after being ushered to the Big Roll, and took a while to get settled in. Once he met some of our other canine guests, he started "feelin it" more. As time passed and the Large Dog Play Area's pack grew, Cooper seemed to really start enjoying himself, he even played a little bit. Mostly, he just went around meeting the various pack members, strolling through the roll calmly, with his "sniffer" on high lol. He was fond of Jackson, and even liked a few of the other "Chocolates" that we had in today. Cooper is most welcome to Fort Fido anytime. Good on ya boy!

In the clip that follows, you can get a glimpse of Cooper during his first meeting with Jackson.

Take care,

-Grant

Benny time!

Checkout this fine specimen, Benny. He is a stunning, eleven month old, seventy-five pound, American Labrador Retriever, English Labrador Retriever, and Golden Retriever Mix. This happy and rambunctious fella, was quite pleased to begin his Assessment Day here at Fort Fido. We had Benny try the Big Roll on for size, and it proved to be the perfect fit for him. After exploring for a little while, we introduced Benny to Jackson. The two canines hit it off like no other, playing and running about within seconds of meeting. As time passed and the Big Roll's pack grew, Benny continued to make friends and have a good time here at The Fort. Given time and consistency, here and at home, Benny, can continue to better his canine social skills. Way to go dude, see ya soon!

You can watch Benny having a grand old time in the following clips, with Jackson, and Theo too:

Cheers,

Bold Baxter!

Meet Baxter! He is a one year old, sixty-two pound, brown and white colored, Boxer Mix, that had his assessment today at Fort Fido. Baxter entered our Big Roll Play Area cautious, yet curious. He wasn't quite sure what he was here to do at first. That was until he started to meet the other canines. Right away, Baxter seemed to hit it off with Jackson and Jesse. As the pack grew in size, he continued to roll about enjoying the day here at The Fort with the fellow pack members. Baxter had an extremely great time playing with Tucker as seen in the videos below.
Below, Baxter rumbles about with Tucker, and Lucy.

We are excited to see Baxter return and make even more great friends here at Fort Fido.
Have an awesome day and stay dry,
- Zach

The Great Gatsby

Early this morn we assessed Gatsby. He is a six month old, forty-five pound, energy-filled, Chocolate Labrador Retriever/Chesapeake Bay Retriever Mix. When Gatsby entered Fort Fido's lobby, we wasted no time getting him to the Big Roll Play Area. Once inside, he was a bit confused as to why he was here... After his owner left, Gatsby settled down into his new surroundings. He took the time to meet with Jackson, then quickly met Zipper, and others, as the pack grew. In total, it took probably five minutes for Gatsby to go from "unsure", to playing and having a blast. It was a sight to see and made us all happy. It's always a compliment to us,when a new-to-The Fort canine, is comfortable enough to play here within minutes of their arrival. It's just all around good, because that is what they are here to do, socialize, play, and enjoy themselves. We believe that Gatsby will continue to thrive here, and we look forward to having him in again. I sure hope he sleeps good tonight, or is at least "down a notch" cause he sure played whole-heartedly.

Enjoy these clips of Gatsby engaged in play with Jackson, Zipper and Reilly:

Clip it up!

From today's ruckus rolls... All kinds of fun!

In the Big Roll, we had "Ollie" being the usual clown with his buddy Jasper. Theodore had a great time, along with Brix, Jackson, Gage, and many others.

From the Medium Roll, we have a nice clip of "Bogart" and Yuki running amok.

Upstairs in the Little Roll Play area, Miguel, got the whole pack to party down... She also has a couple of "boyfriends" in Buckwheat and Rusty lol!

C L I P S

We scored some great clips for your viewing pleasure today.

In the Big Roll, Red and Theodore had one "raucous-reunion."

The Medium Roll was alive and kickin' as always, especially early in the A.M. with Shirley and Yuki.

Also, in the Medium Roll Play Area, we had the opportunity to bust out the "Herding Ball." Many dogs enjoy it, but today it was most definitely Jackson's favorite!

Be well,

Fantastic Finn

Our Assessment Dog today was Finn. He is a fun-loving, four month old, twenty pound, Cardigan Welsh Corgi. Finn headed on over to the Medium Roll, where he absolutely flourished! He had thought that he had died, and gone to "Doggy Heaven" lol. Finn thoroughly enjoyed practicing his social skills here today. Luckily for him, there was a plethora, of perfectly matched dogs, for him to practice with. Finn made several new canine friends, having a most terrific stay. Good on ya Finn! We have a feeling we'll be seeing you again soon. For now, you can relive your fun, and dog filled moments from today, in the following clips.

Here is Finn wrestling with Blue and Jackson.

In this one, Finn is sprinting about with the wily Max.

Is this love?

Today we got in touch with our reggae roots and welcomed Bob Marley to our pack. Keeping in line with his musician namesake, He was jamming all morning long with Jackson and Emmett, a couple other Med. Roll. Fort Fido friends.

A quick clip showing Jackson, Emmett and Bob marley doing their thing in our medium roll, while listening to Bob Marley & The Wailers 1978 hit "Is this love".

What a great addition to an already amazing mix of pups here at our daycare.
Thanks for reading!

In Other exciting news, we received a new shipment of awesome new toys, and we now carry Fromm Dog Treats in a few different flavors, so be sure to grab a sample from the lobby, to see how your furry friends like them, and be sure to let us know!

4 clips

We have four really good clips for y'all today.

First up, from the Medium Roll, we have Jackson, showing young pups, Yuki and Pancake, how to play nice. My how you have matured Mr. Jackson lol, way to go! You sure have been helpful in keeping some of these wild youngbucks in line.

In the Big Roll... It was a bit of a "cuddle fest" haha. Brutus, Marco Polo, and Grady settled down into "neck fighting" (a type of play) after ripping around crazy for awhile. It's just like these three, tired, and still going for it!

Upstairs, in the Little Roll, Henry was the dog-man of the day. He, among others, was playing hard and having a blast. In this clip, you can also spot Tula, Marlee, Jaeger, Dolly, and Dwayne. Good times!

Take care,

-Grant

From today's highlight reel

I was quite thrilled with the clips captured this morning and afternoon... A ton of good old-fashioned Dog Fun, with the majority of it happening in the Medium Roll. Check it out! Good times.

Here is one shot from the Big Roll, featuring Jack and Stella "neck-fighting" (which is a type of play).

Now here's four more clips, all from the Medium Roll. Lots of fantastic play, showcasing Lucy, Cody, Mac, Beau, Jackson, Avi, Sierra, and a few others that flash by lol.

This Week's Cool Clips

We caught a couple of great clips over the past few days that we haven't had a chance to slip in here, with all of the new dogs coming in! So here's a great peek at some of our friends from this weekend and earlier this week--

We caught Maggie on tape tearing it up with pups Buddy and Jack. Maggie is an older gal, and it's great to see that she can still keep up with the wild young'uns!

Next up is this cute clip of Tikvah and Rudy, who were boarding together for a few days. These ladies are just the best of friends, and really enjoy each other's company.

Lastly, we got a hilarious look at Jackson chasing the herding ball. Sometimes it is really surprising which dogs will take to the herding ball, I didn't expect this little Frenchie to get so worked up by it! He didn't even notice Yuki trying to play with him, lol.

We'll see you back with more news and clips on our next blog post!

A Peek at all Pooches!

Koji loves to be King of the Castle!
We got some really great clips of our dogs in action today, in every size! In the little roll, ball time was the main attraction, and all the ladies up there were having a really great time. Frizzy dominated, as usual, though Marlee was close behind her trying to edge in on the game. Dixie and Oreo mostly enjoy chasing the other dogs, which ball time is a great opportunity for!

In the medium roll, Avi and Jackson were back at it again-- these two just can't keep away from each other. Size definitely doesn't matter to these two, they play just fine despite their differences. We could all learn a thing or two from that!

Big dogs Zipper and Buddy were peas in a pod, just a couple of hound-dogs. Good thing that they were playing all the time, not crying all the time! Not any crying at all ;-)

Hope that you enjoyed the look inside!

Birthday boy & A great clip!

Today was our pal Buddy's second birthday. Congrats little dude! With that, Fido's Pack really lucked out... Buddy's ma, was very kind to make homemade dog cookies for all the dogs in attendance today. Talk about super cool, thank you Bonnie & Buddy. Please be sure to grab a few cookies for your pooch on the way out, there are plenty. :)

Earlier today, we captured a real swell clip of Fort Fido "power-doodles" lol, Jackson and Lucy, playing fast & furious in the Medium Roll. It is what these two dogs do best! They have gotten to know each other quite well over the past few months. It's really neat to see them play so wonderfully together.

Be well,

-Grant
