Hardy

This morning we Assessed Hardy. He is a one year old, eighty-three pound, Mastiff Mix, that is chock full of life! The Happy-Hardy, burst into our Big Roll, ready to get his game on. We first introduced him to Nevada, and the two got along very well together. As the morning progressed, Hardy met several other pack members, communicating with them properly and coaxing many of them into play. Hardy really took a liking to, Harley, among several others... Harley and Hardy tore it up, playing fast and furiously about the play area. We are happy that Hardy enjoyed his time here at The Fort, he's one that can get a lot out of Dog Daycare here, and we're stoked that it's a fit. Good on ya Hardy boy!

Checkout these clips of Hardy having a grand time.

Watch as Miss Nevada monitors Hardy and Harley's play. Very cool. She doesn't want them getting too rowdy lol. At times, it is amazing how much the pack can take care of it's self and make our jobs easier. We don't do all the work! ;)

Cheers,

Welcome Sadie and Shaunte Photos

Yesterday we welcomed Miss Sadie to Fort Fido. She is a happy, three year old, sixteen pound, Maltese and Miniature Schnauzer Mix. Upstairs in the Little Roll, Sadie did a nice job of fitting in with the pack. She didn't play a whole heck of a lot, however she did interact with the group quite a bit, meeting, greeting, and scurrying around lol... Which are all good things, especially on a first day at The Fort, it can be slightly overwhelming for some canines. Sadie kept pretty calm and balanced, and did a good job throughout her Assessment, she is welcome to visit us anytime.

A few days ago, Fort Fido Staff Member, Shaunte, took some outstanding photos while on duty. I thought I'd share them with y'all here, enjoy!

Have a great weekend,

-Grant

Shep

Yesterday we met the proud Shep. He is a recently rescued, five year old, one hundred pound, black and tan colored, German Shepherd. New "brother" of Fort Fido regular, Lucy, Shep came into the lobby calm, and most ready to start his day. In the Big Roll, he kept cool and showed a pleasant confidence. It's clear that Shep has socialized with other canines many times before... As the pack arrived, he met with each member in the proper way, exhibiting very good canine communication skills. Shep got into lots of play in a short amount of time, taking on some of our most "rowdy" and regular Big Rollers, including, Nevada, Jack McCoy, Reilly and Theodore, just to name a few. All in all, Shep did downright awesome, and we were really happy for him, his owner, and his new "sister" Lucy. I'll let the following clips, from yesterday, speak for themselves.

Shep may visit us here at The Fort whenever he'd like, welcome dude!

Take it easy,

-Grant
P.S. Ah, here's one more clip, from today, of Shep and Lucy, interacting at Daycare together. Fun!

All about that action!

We took some first-rate clips today....

Upstairs, it was business as usual in the Little Roll.

Pancake and Bailey became new pals in the Medium Roll Play Area...

And the Big Roll had it's normal share of pretty much nonstop dog-play-action. Oliver, Espy, Chedder, Jackson, Nevada, Della, Ryker and Reilly, just to name a few, were having a good old time.

Today, I'd also like to add this awesome clip of our boy, Brix, picking this year's Super Bowl Winner.

Hahaha, very cool, good on ya boy, GO HAWKS! Thanks to Brix's owner, Lisa, for sending this in.

I'll cap this post off with one dog-funny I saw this morning.

Here's "Patient dog entertains baby goat"

Take care,

-Grant
P.S. If you have any fun pictures or videos of your canine buddy(s), please email them to me so we can show them off on the Blog, we love doing that!

Miss Nevada

Bright and early this morn, the Fort Fido team met up with the lovely, Nevada, for her assessment. This clever Alaskan Malamute gal, was ready to see what our place had to offer. She is quite striking, weighs one hundred pounds, and is one and a half years old. Entering the Big Roll, Nevada sniffed about while taking some laps around the play area. We laughed as she laid down shortly thereafter, acting as if she was bored, or ready for the next bit of fun (typical Northern Breed lol)... That "boredom" stopped abruptly, as other canines began to enter the Big Roll. Nevada leapt up, and proceeded to "meet and greet" with them in a kindly fashion... Getting into "dyadic play" (one on one) shortly after. She hit it off well with the other dogs, and had a particular fondness for Brix, and Doberman-Dude Reilly. You can see them playing together in the following clips:

We are happy that Nevada did so well on her first day at The Fort, and she may join us anytime. She has some darn good canine communication skills, especially for her age, and you can tell that she has been socialized well. Nice job today Nevada, you're an excellent addition to our pack.

Cheers,

-Grant
