Meet Max & Teddy

Yesterday Max strolled in for his Assessment. He is a super-cute, three month old, fifteen pound, German Short haired Pointer. This darling little pup was happy and excited to get his morning at The Fort started. In the Medium Roll, Max first met with Miss Georgie "The Wild Woman", who was a lot of personality for him, yet he handled her very well. The two canines hit it off quite nicely, once Max realized that, Georgie, is really just all about high-paced play. Throughout the morning puppy-Max did a fine job of integrating with the pack. He socialized and played his heart out, while communicating well with the other canines. Max also took great ques from the elder dogs, and learned a lot, he'll be able to extract much positivity out of Dog Daycare, and he'll most definitely burn off some excess energy.

Today was Teddy's Assessment Day. He is a handsome, three year old, apricot and red colored, Miniature Poodle. We had Teddy try our Little Roll Play Area on for size. Up there, Teddy didn't do half bad. He meandered about his new found area, meeting and greeting, most commendably, with the others. Teddy didn't get into much play, he's going to need time and consistency to get the most he can out of Fort Fido.

Tucker & Maisy

Yesterday we had the kindly, Tucker, in for his Assessment. He is a one year old, seventy-two pound, Labrador Retriever and German Short-haired Pointer Mix. Recently acquired from an elderly couple, big-boy Tucker, has got a wonderful new forever-home, with great new owners that are willing and able to meet his needs. This lucky dude did quite well in The Fort's Big Roll. Inside the play area, he explored hastily, ready to get on with things, and meet some other canines. We introduced him to Jackson first, and the two dogs hit it off like gangbusters! Throughout his stay, Tucker continued to do well, play, and stay social. We believe he can extract much out of the Dog Daycare environment, and we hope to see him regularly. Great job Tucker!

This morning we welcomed the elegant-looking Miss Maisy. She is a one year old, twelve pound, Alaskan Klee Kai. Now this is a breed that Fort Fido Co-owner, Nancy (she's a huge Spitz Breed fan lol), and others, have been dying to get to know for years. It's awesome that we are finally getting the chance to.

We had Maisy give our Little Roll a go, and once therein, she acted surprisingly calm and balanced while figuring out the place. Once the Small Dog Pack began to show up, Maisy greeted the members well, albeit a bit aloofly. Maisy didn't end up playing this morning, however, she really did a fine job of becoming part of the pack, and working out all of the personalities that it contains. Given time and consistency, we know Maisy can enjoy her time spent here even more. Good stuff.

_ Xena _

This morning, Fort Fido's team got to meetup with the sweet-tempered Xena. She is a pretty, four year old, forty-five pound, German Shorthaired Pointer. Xena is a very nice dog, that size wise, could handle our Big Dog Play Area, however, due to her slight timidness, we had her give the Medium Roll a go. Over there, Xena was a bit overwhelmed at first, but slowly began to warm up to the other canines. As more dogs entered the play area, she began to wag her stubby-tail happily, with each and every new arrival. Xena's canine communication skills aren't too bad, she's just more of the shy type, that gets to know others slowly. Although she didn't play too much this visit, we wouldn't be surprised is she started to in future visits,  especially after getting even more comfortable here. All in all, Xena is one pleasant dog that is welcome to The Fort anytime. Nice job girl!

Vivacious Violet

If you haven't noticed... We love adjectives and alliteration around here, especially when new dogs come in lol! We joke about it often and it has stuck. :)

Meet Violet! She is a mighty-fine, one year old, forty-five pound, Liver & White Colored, German Shorthaired Pointer. This lively gal had her assessment early this morning and hung out with us in our Big Roll. Violet is a awesome young dog that is visiting from Longview Washington. Her situation, is the perfect example of Dog Daycare being wonderful for early socialization. Violet got right to it with the pack. She knew what she was here to do; learn, play and enjoy herself, she did all three of those things with gusto! Violet, you are welcome to attend The Fort anytime. We can't wait to meet with you again. Too bad you are from out of town, if you need a reference for your resume, let us know haha!

Odin & Samwise

 

Yesterday, we were really in for some adventure. The Fort took on new canines Odin and Samwise.

Odin, like his great name suggests, is a strong looking, one year old, sixty-seven pound, black and white colored, German Shorthaired Pointer. Odin's high energy and playful spirit were great for the Big Roll. He found a friend in Fort Fido regular, Zipper, and the two became the perfect match.



From the same family, is Samwise. He is a smart, four month old, thirty pound, brown colored, German Shorthaired Pointer. I was instantly struck with joy by what his owners named him, I've alluded to my J.R.R. Tolkien love before lol. Samwise stayed in the Medium Roll and did just fine. He is still learning the dynamics of the pack and slowly getting into the social scene, so he wasn't quite as playful as his big brother. Nonetheless, he was still very eager to meet & greet with the other pack members. Sam did engage in play as well.

Both Odin and Samwise may join us again anytime. They did a swell job on their first day and hopefully we will meet with them again.
