Welcome Sadie and Shaunte Photos

Yesterday we welcomed Miss Sadie to Fort Fido. She is a happy, three year old, sixteen pound, Maltese and Miniature Schnauzer Mix. Upstairs in the Little Roll, Sadie did a nice job of fitting in with the pack. She didn't play a whole heck of a lot, however she did interact with the group quite a bit, meeting, greeting, and scurrying around lol... Which are all good things, especially on a first day at The Fort, it can be slightly overwhelming for some canines. Sadie kept pretty calm and balanced, and did a good job throughout her Assessment, she is welcome to visit us anytime.

A few days ago, Fort Fido Staff Member, Shaunte, took some outstanding photos while on duty. I thought I'd share them with y'all here, enjoy!

Have a great weekend,

Beanie & Captain

Yesterday we Assessed the lovely looking Beanie. She is a outgoing, six year old, thirty pound, Cardigan Welsh Corgi. Beanie was ready and raring to go as she strutted through our lobby. This happy dog, has a whole lot of personality. We wasted no time and got her straight to our Medium Roll, where we knew she would fit in... And fit in she did! Although not the biggest "player", due to it being her first day, Beanie was very social. She met with each and every pack member quite amicably and enjoyed herself. Beanie was comfortable here, and we believe that she'll enjoy her time spent here even more in future visits.

This morning, The Fort's Crew welcomed in Captain for his Assessment. He is a one year old, twenty pound, brown and black colored, French Bulldog. Frenchies may look "cute and innocent", but don't let them fool you lol, they pack a ton of energy and "big-dogness" into a small package... Captain, was no exception to this, hence why he hung out with us in our Medium Roll, where the high-energy is always flowing. Once inside the Play Area, Captain was in dog-playtime-heaven. He met quickly with Lucky, in a confident and correct canine-way. The two dogs then got into play, after their brief introduction, almost instantly! It was pretty hilarious to watch Captain rip around the roll with his goofy, yet highly efficient, gait. He can really move! Throughout the morning, Captain continued to amuse himself and get along with the pack. This tough little fella can get a lot out of Dog Daycare.

Checkout Captain and Lucky "on the move" in the following clip:

Both Beanie and Captain may join us here at Fort Fido anytime. Way to go you two!

Cheers,

-Grant

We found Nemo!

Meet Nemo, he is a one year old, twenty-three pound, Australian Cattle Dog and Border Collie Mix, that had his assessment at Fort Fido today. Nemo seemed fascinated upon entering The Fort's lobby. He obviously knew that some type of doggy-interaction was in store. We led him to the Medium Roll, where he could explore a bit, before getting introduced to the pack. Nemo began to meet with the other canines in a kindly fashion, excited and curious, yet cautious. After about an hour or so, Nemo really began to bust out! It was a pleasurable sight to see, he play-bowed, ran, jumped, and wagged, with several different pack members. Nemo took quite a liking to Walter, Lucky, and Lucy, among others. We were pleased that Nemo had such a good first day here. Like many of our canines guests, Nemo, is here to sharpen his communication skills, and most importantly, play... Which will hopefully get some of his energy out lol. Nice job Nemo, we'll see ya soon!

Take the time to checkout this outstanding clip, which shows Nemo, getting to know Walter for the first time. It's a classic instance of  "meet & greet", turning into play, almost instantly. That's what it's all about!

Cheers,

-Grant

Luck of the draw...

Meet Mr. Lucky! He is a charming, eight year old, thirty-one pound, white and light-brown colored, Cavachon... Which is a lovely mixture of Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Bichon Frise. This Dog Daycare and Overnight Boarding Veteran, stayed with us in our Medium Roll. There, Lucky, wagged his tail and sniffed about while leisurely getting to know the Play Area. As we introduced him to members of our pack, he seemed delighted to "meet and greet" with them. For the majority of his stay, Lucky carried with him, an easy-going and comfortable attitude. Although he didn't get into much play, his actions implied that he was pretty comfortable here at The Fort. We enjoyed Lucky, and we hope that he will enjoy staying with us. We would like to see him get involved into some more physical play, and believe that there is a good chance he will... Especially, after he spends some more time here at Fort Fido. Lucky, you had a tremendous first day, good on ya bud!

Cheers,

-Grant

Out-of-sight Otto!

Please welcome Otto to The Fort! He is a rascally looking, two year old, thirty-one pound, tan/ multi-colored, Bichon Frise/Rat Terrier/ Border Collie Mixed Breed. Otto strolled into the lobby this morning with his nose to the ground, curious about our place, and ready for his assessment day. After entering the Medium Roll Play Area, Otto got straight to introductions, meeting with the pack healthily. He's a fun-loving canine that has pretty darn good dog-communication skills. Most awesomely, Otto began to play within minutes of his arrival, he "got down" with the likes of Lucky and Cayenne, among several others. Otto shall prove to be a great addition to Fort Fido, because he is a kindly dog that enjoys being with the pack. We most definitely look forward to his return.

Have a great weekend,

A dog named Xu!

Get a load of Xu, pronounced "Sue". She is a energetic, three month old, about 20 pound, copper colored, Golden Retriever. This striking golden gal leaped into the Fort Fido lobby, ready for a morning full of excitement. A young canine, Xu is here to get out some energy and learn how to socialize properly. She is the perfect age to start Dog Daycare! As expected, Xu got to playing and socializing with the Medium Roll Pack, within minutes of her arrival. She enjoyed romping around in the play area with Lucky, Ruby, and several others. Puppies sure do great here at The Fort, and we love having them... They get in early, learn the ropes quickly, and thrive, growing into well-versed adult dogs. Xu, we are looking forward to helping you hone your canine communication skills and watching you grow. We'll see you around soon, welcome!

Here are a few snippets of Xu in action, enjoy.

Clip Reel...

Roll it!

Today in the Big Roll play area, we had a lot of action involving Max, Liberty, and Reilly... Border Collie Max, sure knows how to stir up the fun!

Big puppy-head, Oliver, has recently "graduated" from the Medium Roll to the Big Roll. He is experiencing his second day of the Large Pack today. We are glad he's made the move, and sure enough, as you can see, he is doing well and loving his new digs/friends.

In the Medium Roll today, it was our normal "cyclone of fur" that is Lucky and Yuki hahaha!

As usual, Georgie played her tail off, this time with "siblings" Lucy and Max. Awesome stuff.

Upstairs in the Little Roll, we had our cute Wednesday Regulars, and of course, lots of ball time. Sometimes, it can be rather hard to catch the little dogs engaging in dyadic (one on one), wrestling-style play... Today however, we got lucky. Here are Fort Fido mainstays, Oreo and Samarah, having a darn good time together.

Take it easy,

Lucky for us...

It was Lucky's day to have his assessment! He is a very original looking, nine month old, ten pound, Dark Brindle, Terrier Mix. Lucky is the new "little brother" of Fort Fido regular, Ruby. Recently rescued, Lucky, is certainly living up to his name... His new forever-home and family can't be beat! These folks are dog owners that truly know how to do right by a canine. Compliments to them.

This morning, Lucky was a bit hesitant about stepping into The Fort at first. Once he reached the Little Roll upstairs, he calmed a bit, and was interested in his new surroundings. Like his "big sister" Ruby, Lucky is good at speaking "Dog", understanding just how to communicate with new canine acquaintances. As many of you know, dogs communicate in a myriad of ways, some being quite subtle... And just like people, some canines "speak to each other" better than others lol. Lucky went from meeting and greeting the other dogs, to fun-filled play with several of them, within an instant! Twas a sight to see. Given all that, it's easy for us to say "Welcome to the pack Lucky Dude, see ya soon!"

Here is Lucky in video from this morning, playing with Barclay and Miguel.

Take care,

-Grant
P.S. Have a wonderful Memorial Day! Please note, there is still room available for Overnight Boarding this weekend, reserve your spot as soon as you can.

A Sister Act

This morning we assessed the "precious pair" that is Ella and Miley.

Ella is a happy-go-lucky, three month old, twenty-five pound, Black Labrador Retriever... Her "sister", Miley, is a feisty, two month old, sixteen pound, Silver Labrador Retriever.

These two played-it-up in our Medium Roll today. Once inside the play area, they quickly met with Fort Regular Lucky. The three dogs hit it off smoothly, running, jumping, chasing, and bounding around, during their play-session. As more dogs arrived, and the pack grew, Ella and Miley continued with play, curiosity, and enthusiasm. These two wonderful new pups, are welcome to come back to Fort Fido anytime. They enjoyed their stay, and seemed to get a lot out of the experience. Dog Daycare is sure a great place for young canines to let out some energy, and most importantly, learn how to speak "DOG" and socialize properly. Ella and Miley are well Overnight Boarding visit soon.
on their way to all of that, and we plan on seeing them for a future

Well done today girls!

Checkout these cool clips of Ella and Miley... You can also spot Lucky, Walter, and Yuki.

Be well,

-Grant

Lucky & Max Clip Action

I just scored some really fun clips of Fort regulars, Lucky and Max, involved in play. Their combined play-styles make for a fast, furious, and high-energy show. The two have known each other for a few months, but haven't engaged quite this much until recently... Maybe it has something to do with Lucky's stylin, new, aerodynamic haircut? Or maybe it's the fact that Max missed a week of daycare? Hahaha, I think both of those things factor in.

For your enjoyment, here are the awesome clips, taken from the Medium Roll:

- Excellent Elenor -

Eleanor came into The Fort for her assessment this morning. She is a spunky, five month old, forty pound, Yellow Labrador Retriever. Eleanor tried our Medium Roll on for size. Once there, she socialized well with an array of different pack members. Eleanor played with several different dogs, and had a wonderful time here today. This sweet pup is welcome to attend Fort Fido anytime.

Checkout some video of Eleanor having a great time with Lucky.

Good golly Miss Molly!

Get a load of Molly! She is a fun-loving, six month old, thirty pound, Black Labrador Retriever, that assessed this morning. Molly is a very cute, wiggly, energy-filled Lab Pup, that is up for anything. Upon entering our Medium Roll, she seemed to know that "good times" were in store for her. Molly is learning to speak "good dog", and her studies are coming along nicely. She socialized a lot today, even getting into some high-paced play with Olive, Lucky, and Mac, amongst several others. All in all, Molly fits in quite well to Fort Fido's pack. She is welcome anytime, and we hope to see her again in the near future.

Here's a grand shot of Molly, just starting to get into the action...

And here she is again with "brother from another mother" Cooper.

Have a nice weekend, stay warm,

Par excellence Parker

Meet Parker! He is a handsome, six month old, thirty pound, Golden Retriever that had his assessment today. Now Parker pranced into The Fort Fido lobby bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. We showed him to the Medium Roll, where he entered with curious excitement. Shortly after Parker arrived, the pack grew with several young canines... After their arrival, Parker was in full-on Play Mode, meeting and greeting with any and all dogs interested in him.
Parker is well on his way to becoming a well mannered and socialized canine. He had a lot of fun at The Fort today, learning how to play fair. Well done Parker!

Get a load of these clips featuring Parker, Lucky, Max and others having a good time this morning.

Be well,

Chipper Chip!

This morning we assessed the ever-so-adorable Chip. He is hearty, six month old, black, brown, and white colored, Mixed Breed. Chip hung out with us in our Medium Roll. He got to know the pack right away, playing with several different members of it within minutes. This young pup is learning how to speak "Canine" wonderfully, and seems to understand why he came to The Fort and what he is here to do... Drain-off some of that youthful dog energy! Chip certainly did that today in first-rate fashion. We look forward to seeing him around these parts again soon.

Take a gander at these two swell clips of Chip in action with Lucky, and then Max.

Take care,

-Grant
