Welcome Sadie and Shaunte Photos
Yesterday we welcomed Miss Sadie to Fort Fido. She is a happy, three year old, sixteen pound, Maltese and Miniature Schnauzer Mix. Upstairs in the Little Roll, Sadie did a nice job of fitting in with the pack. She didn't play a whole heck of a lot, however she did interact with the group quite a bit, meeting, greeting, and scurrying around lol... Which are all good things, especially on a first day at The Fort, it can be slightly overwhelming for some canines. Sadie kept pretty calm and balanced, and did a good job throughout her Assessment, she is welcome to visit us anytime.
A few days ago, Fort Fido Staff Member, Shaunte, took some outstanding photos while on duty. I thought I'd share them with y'all here, enjoy!
Have a great weekend,

Bold Baxter!
Meet Baxter! He is a one year old, sixty-two pound, brown and white colored, Boxer Mix, that had his assessment today at Fort Fido. Baxter entered our Big Roll Play Area cautious, yet curious. He wasn't quite sure what he was here to do at first. That was until he started to meet the other canines. Right away, Baxter seemed to hit it off with Jackson and Jesse. As the pack grew in size, he continued to roll about enjoying the day here at The Fort with the fellow pack members. Baxter had an extremely great time playing with Tucker as seen in the videos below.
We are excited to see Baxter return and make even more great friends here at Fort Fido.
Have an awesome day and stay dry,
- Zach

Jumping Jesse
Lo and behold Jesse! This handsome looking Mixed Breed is eight years old and weighs about seventy pounds. With a large and confident demeanor, Jesse walked into The Fort's lobby quite ready for his Assessment Day. We had him give our Big Roll Play Area a go, where we assumed he'd do great, given that he has been a Dog Daycare regular for most of his life. Jesse's first "meeting" was with the extra large and fun, Theodore, and to no surprise, Jesse met with him graciously. The pack continued to grow and things continued to go well... However, as soon as Brix got into the mix, Jesse busted out with him, into some high-energy "wrestle play". The two dogs played hard together off and on for a few hours, allowing other canines to join in as well. It was pretty much non-stop socialization-action for Jesse, up until he finally laid down for a rest, after about three and a half hours lol. In the end, we assumed right, Jesse did awesome! Over time, he should prove to be a key player in our Big-Dog Pack. Rest up Jesse, because we plan on seeing you again soon.

Fun Phoebe & Finn!
Feast your eyes on these two cuties, Phoebe and Finn, who had their assessments this morning. Phoebe is a pretty, six year old, ten pound, black and white colored, Havanese. Finn is a handsome, eleven month old, nine pound, red/sable /white colored, Havanese. Their "Uncle Jesse" has hung out at The Fort before, so naturally, Phoebe and Finn had to give it a try...
Phoebe and Finn came into the lobby full of joy, and proceeded to sniff-about curiously. From there, they scampered up to the Little Roll to get settled in. After some time, they began to meet the pack, greeting with the other dogs in a polite and friendly matter. Fitting in rather well with the group, Phoebe and Finn are pleasant little dogs, that remained calm and balanced during their stay. Although we didn't see too much "play" out of Phoebe and Finn, they did do a bit, and seemingly enjoyed the Dog Daycare Experience. Finn chased after some toys, and played with Phoebe some, both dogs enjoyed our play-toy-slide. We think that Phoebe and Finn can extract even more fun out of Fort Fido, and possibly, even bust out into some more "rigorous play", during future visits. Phoebe and Finn are welcome to stay with us anytime, and we plan on seeing the duo again.Take it easy,

- Jesse and Charlie -
We had a "double header" today, two new dogs coming in for their assessments. First came Jesse, then later, Charlie.
Jesse is a good looking, three year old, twelve pound, blonde colored, Havanese. Heading upstairs to The Fort's Little Roll, Jesse was bright-eyed and curious. He met with a few different pack members, just minutes after his arrival. Jesse did well "meeting and greeting", he enjoyed the company of the others dogs, and mingled quite fluidly. Although Jesse didn't do much one-on-one or "dyadic play", we believe he will get into that over time. He is a darling little canine, that enjoyed his stay here today.
Charlie is a unique, one year old, thirty-five pound, Petite Golden Retriever. Charlie ventured to the Medium Roll play area full of anticipation and interest. Right away, he was introduced to the Medium Pack, and instantly began to communicate with them properly... By standing still, moving his tail a bit, and allowing the other dogs to approach and sniff him first. Within seconds, we knew that Charlie spoke "DOG" well, given his body language and comfort level, while meeting multiple canines at once. After the slightly overwhelming intro was over, Charlie slipped into his "groove", seemingly becoming pleased with his new surroundings and friends. Charlie played a lot with many different dogs, and it was a site to see.
First-rate job Jesse and Charlie, you are both accepted to Fort Fido. Woo hoo!
Cheers,
-Grant
