Every once in awhile at
Fort Fido, we get some absolutely identical looking canine guests. Believe it or not, at times it can be very difficult to tell two dogs apart. One must really study the individual dogs, to find identifying attributes, then share their findings with the rest of the staff (on our
communication boards).
Most importantly, when the owners arrive, we must know without a shadow of a doubt, who's who! It can be surprisingly tricky, for instance, on a "Chocolate Lab Day", when there are seven of the same breed in one play-area, to figure out exactly who "Coco" is, amongst a sea of super-similar chocolates lol... They have a tendency to melt together, especially when five+ customers arrive at once for pick-up, and you are
on the fly. Luckily, we've developed some tricks, in order to make certain we know which dog is which at all times.

Currently, other than a handful of
Labrador Retrievers, and a couple of
English Springer Spaniels, the most perplexing twin duo has to be
Yuki and
Sam. Both high-energy
Shibu Inus, Yuki & Sam poses matching physical features, as well as matching personalities and play-styles! They are also about the same age.
They just look so darn similar...

Ella is a happy-go-lucky, three month old, twenty-five pound, Black Labrador Retriever... Her "sister", Miley, is a feisty, two month old, sixteen pound, Silver Labrador Retriever.Ryan&Jordan.jpg)
These two played-it-up in our Medium Roll today. Once inside the play area, they quickly met with Fort Regular Lucky. The three dogs hit it off smoothly, running, jumping, chasing, and bounding around, during their play-session. As more dogs arrived, and the pack grew, Ella and Miley continued with play, curiosity, and enthusiasm. These two wonderful new pups, are welcome to come back to Fort Fido anytime. They enjoyed their stay, and seemed to get a lot out of the experience. Dog Daycare is sure a great place for young canines to let out some energy, and most importantly, learn how to speak "DOG" and socialize properly. Ella and Miley are well Overnight Boarding visit soon.

Meet Shadow! Now fortunately for us, he isn't anything like the once popular comic character, he is much more easy going, happy, and fun lol. Shadow is a two year old, thirty-five pound, black colored, Labradoodle. He had his assessment today in the Medium Roll, and is staying with us for Overnight Boarding. Shadow is a very nice dog that has been socialized well. He is the younger "dog brother" of Fort Fido Friend Chance... The two make an extremely amusing and striking duo, due to their cheerful personalities and contrasting colors. Shadow is doing well with the pack, and has been enjoying his stay since early this morning, playing quite a bit with Gracie and Yuki, among others. Keep up the first-rate work there Shadow, you are doing great.... O, and Chance, keep an eye on him would ya? Thanks! Haha.

This morning we were delighted to assess new pup Penny. She is a four month old, twenty-five pound, blonde colored, Goldendoodle. Penny's "Dog Aunt", Ruby, has been coming to The Fort for over a year. Penny stayed with us and the pack in our Medium Roll. She was happy, playful, and pleased to meet with the other dogs. A very well rounded young dog, Penny interacted nicely with the group. She greeted and played with many dogs, including Fort Fido regulars, Lucy and Yuki. We are lucky to have a nice new doodle amongst our ranks. First-rate job today Penny, we hope to see you soon!
