Stella & Maggie Rose

Yesterday the Fort Fido crew met Stella for her Assessment Day. She is a eleven month old, thirteen pound, brindle and white, Foxton. This fun mix of a dog, was ready and willing to give our Little Roll Play Area a go. Once inside, Stella, acted quite curious about her new digs, and she explored the Little Roll with confidence. When it was time to meet the pack, Stella did so gracefully. In no time at all, she was making friends and playing well with the other canines. She enjoyed Ball Time, and liked chasing around one of our Canine Hardware Kick Fetch Balls. Stella is the type of healthy canine that can get a lot out of Dog Daycare!

Today we had Miss Maggie Rose in for her Assessment. She is a sweet, five month old, about ten pound, American Cocker Spaniel. Maggie, is also the new "baby-sister" of Fort Regular, Thorn. Unlike her larger "brother" Thorn, Maggie, tried the Small Dog Play Area on for size. There, she was calm and content, while she explored the new area. As the morning moved on, and the Little Roll Pack began to arrive, Maggie happily met with each member, albeit cautiously. She is here to sharpen her social skills and burn-off some puppy energy. She has a lot to learn, but luckily, she's at the right place to do so, and her owners are doing a fine job of getting her on the right track too. In time, Maggie should certainly become a well rounded adult canine. Throughout the morning, Maggie played hard and socialized very energetically. She also enjoyed giving Little Roller, Dixie, a "run for her money" lol. We believe Maggie can't wait until her next visit and we plan on seeing her again soon.

Take care,

-Grant

A few clips

A few clips from today...

Here's a great one from the Little Roll, it seems to always be a party up there! In the clip, you can spot Dixie, Pearl, Willow, Mimi and Pippin.

The next two are just some quickies of Diego, Penny and Reilly having some fun.

All for now.

Take it easy,

-Grant
P.S. Ah, I also wanted to add this clip from yesterday of Pippin and new dog Max. Pippin usually doesn't get too playful unless he has been staying with us for a few days... He can also be tricky to capture on film, but alas, I got a little shot of him here, beginning to have a good time. :)

A Peek at all Pooches!

Koji loves to be King of the Castle!
We got some really great clips of our dogs in action today, in every size! In the little roll, ball time was the main attraction, and all the ladies up there were having a really great time. Frizzy dominated, as usual, though Marlee was close behind her trying to edge in on the game. Dixie and Oreo mostly enjoy chasing the other dogs, which ball time is a great opportunity for!

In the medium roll, Avi and Jackson were back at it again-- these two just can't keep away from each other. Size definitely doesn't matter to these two, they play just fine despite their differences. We could all learn a thing or two from that!

Big dogs Zipper and Buddy were peas in a pod, just a couple of hound-dogs. Good thing that they were playing all the time, not crying all the time! Not any crying at all ;-)

Hope that you enjoyed the look inside!

Li'l Brother from another...

Hey y'all, check out this looker... Li'l Bro is his name, and being a super-cute Pug is his game haha. Li'l Bro is cousins with the awesome Fort Fido Papillon, Riley. Li'l Bro is a one year old Chinese Pug that weighs about fourteen pounds. He had a nice time upstairs in our Little Roll this morning and truly did well. Li'l Bro enjoyed playing fetch and all-around socializing. He is an easy going dog that got along well with our pack. Lil' Bro really liked Alexander Graham Pug (Go figure!) and Miss Dixie. Good times. Welcome Bro, sweet job today, we'll see ya around for sure!

Cheers,

-Grant
P.S. Here are two small clips of Li'l Bro, we were unable to catch him "in action", however you can at least see how much of a cutie he is. ;)

Ginger & Macey

Meet Ginger & Macey, two swell dogs, from the same family, that assessed this morning.

Ginger, is a four month old, eleven pound, red & black colored, Shiba Inu. She did rather well upstairs in the Little Roll. Ginger is a very sweet spirited canine. She played with Dixie, Pearl and just about any dog that was game.

Macey, is a one year old, about twenty pound, black & white colored, Border Collie. Now at first, Macey was not sure why she was here lol... But, once she began to figure things out in the Medium Roll, she started having lots of fun. This dog wasted no time getting in on the action, once she was situated. Macey enjoyed herself, playing with Marley and Sammy, among others.

Both Ginger and Macey were a pleasure to take care of today. We highly anticipate their return!

Take care,

-Grant

Dachshunds on parade!

This funny little clip was taken yesterday. It shows three of our many Miniature Dachshunds, more commonly referred to as "Wiener Dogs" lol. First Miller, the fawn colored, waddles off. Not too far behind him Coco, a chocolate colored guy, heads the same way... Followed by Dixie who is a black and tan little gal. We are fortunate to have so many mini dachshunds at Fort Fido. In our expierenece they make delightful daycare dogs, even if they can get a bit too rowdy at times. :)

Cheers,

-Grant
P.S. If you are interested, this link goes to a page that talks all about Dachshund colors, patterns and Coat types. It is very informative and has pictures.
