Fun Phoebe & Finn!

Feast your eyes on these two cuties, Phoebe and Finn, who had their assessments this morning. Phoebe is a pretty, six year old, ten pound, black and white colored, Havanese. Finn is a handsome, eleven month old, nine pound, red/sable /white colored, Havanese. Their "Uncle Jesse" has hung out at The Fort before, so naturally, Phoebe and Finn had to give it a try...

Phoebe and Finn came into the lobby full of joy, and proceeded to sniff-about curiously. From there, they scampered up to the Little Roll to get settled in. After some time, they began to meet the pack, greeting with the other dogs in a polite and friendly matter. Fitting in rather well with the group, Phoebe and Finn are pleasant little dogs, that remained calm and balanced during their stay. Although we didn't see too much "play" out of Phoebe and Finn, they did do a bit, and seemingly enjoyed the Dog Daycare Experience. Finn chased after some toys, and played with Phoebe some, both dogs enjoyed our play-toy-slide. We think that Phoebe and Finn can extract even more fun out of Fort Fido, and possibly, even bust out into some more "rigorous play", during future visits. Phoebe and Finn are welcome to stay with us anytime, and we plan on seeing the duo again.

Take it easy,

A lil action from 1/28

Featuring mostly the Medium Roll, in all of it's fast and furious glory... Lot's of high-paced Lucky, Georgie, Phoebe, Jackson, Cooper, and Cayenne play. You can spot quite a few other colorful characters as well.

There's a little clip of Theodore and Summer from the Big Roll too.

Have a great day,

Two speeds: stop and go go go!

Last night things got pretty cuddly with these sweet sleepers! Cayenne and Louis were best buds, and Tikvah really liked squeezing into the tiny bed, haha. Reminds me of a certain bulldog that stays with us ;-)

The sleepiness ended when we opened up shop for the day's daycare dogs, and we got some great peeks at the action in all three areas. Upstairs, Marlee and Oliver were trying to figure out how to play fetch and share at the same time. Hilarity ensues!

In the Medium Pack, Tikvah was running amok with pals Lucy and Phoebe. These girls definitely know how to have a good time.

Large pups Max and Red had a "clash of the titans" in the big roll. These boys had a great time together, and were a really well-matched pair.

After this rip-roarin' day, we'll have some more cute sleepers tonight I bet!

Happy Overnight Boarding

Barley and Phoebe have been staying overnight at The Fort. We scored a couple of great pictures of them cuddling up on Monday night. Too cute!

Click the pics to enlarge

We also got a short clip of Duke and Jack's first night at The Fort, last night. These two were a crackup, it's like a regular-old-classic Slumber Party. Hahaha!

In other news, Fort Fido has an awesome new "Announcements" chalk board in the lobby. It was professionally made, by none other than, Handyman Matt Kanz... Just one of our many outstanding employees. The board looks absolutely great Matt, well done sir!

(Matt doodling on the board)

Cool Clips and a Happy Birthday to Tazzie!

One from the Big Roll and three from the Medium Roll... Sorry Little Roll, we'll get ya soon! ;)

Mollie and Ziva, among many others we had in there today, were getting along like two peas in a pod.

New puppy-boy Bear has been branching out nicely. Here he starts to romp with Macs and Otto.

Emily and Phoebe are best friends. They are a very good match as far as size and play-style are concerned... You can see what I mean in this clip.

Another set of best buds, Barkley and Diego roughhouse a lot when they meet, usually twice a week.

Happy Birthday to Miss Tazzie! She turned the big "five years old" today. Her ma Lisa was kinda enough to bring in treats for all (Including some for us, thank you kindly!), be sure to grab some treats for your pup on the way out. Sorry, the donuts we received are pretty much gone lol. :)

Take care,

-Grant

Medium Monday

Not a medium dog but hey it looks like a medium sized mug ;)

It was pretty much non-stop crazy fun in the Medium Roll today... Only had to intervene a few times, that's good lol. There was just the right mix of hard playing regulars ready to let out their energy. Have a look:

Have a great week!

Kumpi Day

In 1997 Evy Serpa lost her dog Kumpi to cancer when he was only five. This dog expert of over thirty years contracted with a premier nutritionist to create a product line. She was surprised at how far beyond the current concept of premium one could go.

Hey everyone! I hope you all had a nice Holiday, we sure did. Got to checkout Warhorse. It was a pretty good film, although there weren't any dogs in it lol.

Kumpi arrived today so we've been a bit busy. We apologize for any inconveniences due to it's late arrival. We've been out of the twenty pound bags for a couple of weeks now. Luckily that is over and we are all stocked-up now. Thank you for your patience.

Here are a few neat bits from the web I've spotted today.

I'll leave you with a fun clip of Tikvah and Miss Phoebe doing what they do best in the Medium Roll.

Feel free to use the leashes

Some of you may have noticed the pile of slip-leads hanging behind the bench in our lobby. Please feel free to use them, that is what they are there for. I'm surprised we haven't put them out a long time ago. In a hurry, some folks forget to leash up there canine companion... It's usually no big deal but sometimes getting your pooch into The Fort can be tricky without a lead. Especially with a crazy-full lobby and parking lot. So anywho... If you've forgotten your leash or don't want to use yours for any reasonn, we'd truly appreciate it if you came in and grabbed one of ours to use. We need things to go as smoothly and safely as possible! We understand that your dog is exceptionally well trained, doesn't need a leash and is under perfect voice control... However, please, just humor us. ;)

Get a load of these clips from today.

New dog Brodie loves it here. In this clip, he tears it up with the infamous Marco Polo.

More Polo in this one as well as some German Shepherd Love featuring Ziva and Zodiac, those two gotta be a match made in heaven lol.

Two from the Medium Roll. This one is just a cross section of the good times these pups have.

The second clip I've titled "Kissy Face", I think you can see why hahaha. Buddha and Phoebe frequently make us chuckle.

Take care,

-Grant

Fido & Clips

(Apparently, this is a Photo of a Hubley Cast Iron Piggy-Bank from the early 1900's, cool!)

Why did "Fido" become the generic family dog name?

I didn't know either lol, maybe you did... I just learned that Fido comes from the Latin fidus, meaning faithful / I trust, a very fitting term for "Man's best friend". Neat, ya learn something new everyday. ;)

Now here are some outstanding clips from today's rolls.

First up, Abby, Grady, Stella and Ziva have been romping hard all day together in the Big Roll.

It has also been a Chocolate Lab fest in the Large Roll today, here, Osbourne, Kodiak and Grady have a triple threat match. They must know their the same breed lol.

Things were fast and furious in the Medium Roll today as always. Miss Phoebe loves stirring up a pot of chase games... Buddha, Diego and Zeus pursue.

Check Pearl out in the Little Roll, she found a big orange ball that she really digs... A clip was taken later in the day and she was still after that ball, too funny.

Last but certainly not least, new pup Mooshu and Pearl had a late afternoon wrestling match that we were able to capture. What a blast!

Take care,

Roll clips!

Four from today.

The first one is short but sweet showing the ball-of-furry that can be the Little Roll lol.

In clip two, from the Medium Roll, Mr. Buddha's got a girlfriend (Phoebe)!

The Medium Roll again, this one shows Mama Mimi schooling young Zeus and Buddha.

In the Big Roll it was daily fun, as usual, you can spot Maggie, Howie, Benny, Maximus, Grady, Mcgee and Stella among others.

Enjoy your weekend,

-Grant

a couple of clips

We did have an assessment this morning but unfortunately the beautiful looking dog didn't cut the mustard in the socialization department... Yikes! At any rate, it's rare for dogs not to make it past their assessment day but it does happen. We don't mess around, we don't jepordize the packs safety. Sometimes the dog is only here for a matter of minutes before we say "No Way!". I don't usually mention a dog not passing but wanted to today since, ironically, I just wrote this article the other day.

On to some happier stuff.

Here is a good clip of the Big Roll Late in the AM... As you can see, most are winding down from the ruckus that is the "early morning play" but a handful of pups are still going at it.

In the Medium Roll, Phoebe was our top sprinter today. Dang, this dog can move and loves "chase me" games!

Cheers,

-Grant

CLIP CLIP NEWS

Here from the Big Roll, Mr. McGee (a brindle Boxer) and Marco Polo (David and Nancy's Husky) are having a rip-roaringly good time.

In the Medium Roll we see that wily new Cooper (Pug) having a blast with young Vizsla pup Phoebe.

Cheers,

-Grant

- Meet Phoebe -

Phoebe had her assessment this morning. She is a five month old, 20 pound (?), pleasant little Vizsla. Phoebe played fabulously in the Medium Roll, she was as lively as the best of them! We think she will get a lot out of attending doggie daycare and can't wait to see her again.

Take it easy,

-Grant
