Woody & Oliver

This is not the Woody you are thinking of...

This is Woody! He is a 8 year-old, 70 lbs, Golden Retriever. Woody strolled through the front door and casually made his way in. He then entered into the large roll where he began to meet others. Woody looked like he was having a cozy time at The Fort and we look forward to seeing him return soon.

Today we met Oliver, a 3 year-old, 73 lbs, Golden Retriever Lab. He entered into the large roll confidently and began to mingle with the others. Oliver had good "dog talk" and got along with the pack throughout his stay at The Fort. We are looking forward to having Oliver return soon.

Stay warm,
- Zach

All about that action!

We took some first-rate clips today....

Upstairs, it was business as usual in the Little Roll.

Pancake and Bailey became new pals in the Medium Roll Play Area...

And the Big Roll had it's normal share of pretty much nonstop dog-play-action. Oliver, Espy, Chedder, Jackson, Nevada, Della, Ryker and Reilly, just to name a few, were having a good old time.

Today, I'd also like to add this awesome clip of our boy, Brix, picking this year's Super Bowl Winner.

Hahaha, very cool, good on ya boy, GO HAWKS! Thanks to Brix's owner, Lisa, for sending this in.

I'll cap this post off with one dog-funny I saw this morning.

Here's "Patient dog entertains baby goat"

Take care,

-Grant
P.S. If you have any fun pictures or videos of your canine buddy(s), please email them to me so we can show them off on the Blog, we love doing that!

How about...

A few fun clips from the Medium and Big Rolls? Enjoy!

Georgie and Nemo got going strong early this morn...

They continued their "fierce" wrestle-play throughout the A.M., adding Angel to the mix.

Over in the Big Roll, it was your typical "Reilly Show", with him getting several other canines involved in play, including Oliver, and young-buck Ryker.

Good times!

One shot of "Espresso" please!

Feast your eyes on Espresso, otherwise known as "Espy" for short. She is a one year old, seventy-five pound, Chocolate Labrador Retriever. Espy came into Fort Fido this morning all fired up, very excited for her Assessment Day. We marched her straight to the Big Roll, where she got down to business right away. A Dog Daycare regular, Espy was enthralled by meeting and greeting the pack...Within minutes, she was playing fast and furiously with none other than Oliver and Theodore, two staples of our large dog play area. The three dogs hit it off beautifully, and Espy, continued to thrive here throughout the day. This veteran canine-socializer should prove to be a nice addition to our pack. Way to go girl, you are welcome at The Fort anytime. We'll see ya soon!

Here is wonderful clip of Miss Espresso in action:

Clip Reel...

Roll it!

Today in the Big Roll play area, we had a lot of action involving Max, Liberty, and Reilly... Border Collie Max, sure knows how to stir up the fun!

Big puppy-head, Oliver, has recently "graduated" from the Medium Roll to the Big Roll. He is experiencing his second day of the Large Pack today. We are glad he's made the move, and sure enough, as you can see, he is doing well and loving his new digs/friends.

In the Medium Roll today, it was our normal "cyclone of fur" that is Lucky and Yuki hahaha!

As usual, Georgie played her tail off, this time with "siblings" Lucy and Max. Awesome stuff.

Upstairs in the Little Roll, we had our cute Wednesday Regulars, and of course, lots of ball time. Sometimes, it can be rather hard to catch the little dogs engaging in dyadic (one on one), wrestling-style play... Today however, we got lucky. Here are Fort Fido mainstays, Oreo and Samarah, having a darn good time together.

Take it easy,

Logan lives it up!

We had a real winner show up for their assessment this morning. Meet Logan! He is a cool, seven month old, brindle, Boxer. Logan tried our Medium Roll on for size and thrived. Once there, he instantly took to greeting the pack that arrived. "Play" was the name of Logan's game, and that he did! Logan jumped, ran, ducked and dove all over the play area, with several different playmates. He speaks fairly good "Dog" for a pup, so making buddies was easy for him. Logan really enjoyed Oliver and Zoey's company, among others. We believe he will continue to learn, grow, and have a good time here. Ya never know, he may even graduate to the Big Roll some day.

Here are three wonderful clips of Logan in action.

First-rate job today bud, rest up, cause we shall see you again real soon!

Take care,

Foxlike then Bearlike

"Extreme Cuteness" arrived in the form of a Shiba Inu Assessment, this last Saturday. Meet Thalia, she is a spunky, one year old, twenty pound, Sesame Shiba (red and black colored). Outside our place, Thalia, is good buddies with Medium Roll Regular and "barrel of fun", Louis. Like Louis, Thalia is a whole lot of fun, and is a lot like a few of our other Shiba Friends. She thoroughly enjoys socializing with the pack, and playing. On top of being quite a looker, Thalia will be an excellent inclusion to Fort Fido's Medium Roll. Man, if all of our Shibas show up on the same day, it'll be one high-energy day!

This morning, "Extreme Cuteness", arrived in the form of a stocky, cuddly, baby bear cub-like pup, in for his Assessment. Meet Oliver! He is a three month old, twenty pound, black and chestnut colored, Bernese Mountain Dog and English Crème-colored Golden Retriever Mix. Oliver had a blast here today. He wiggled, wagged, frolicked and played his way into everyone's hearts haha.

Oliver's only problem however, is that he may be too cute for his own good! What I mean to say is, too cute to correct, literally.

Excuse me while I rant a bit... Sometimes, the real "cuddly-fuzzy-wuzzy types", can miss out on Strong Leadership and Corrections, just because they are so darn loveable. When this happens to a dog, especially a dog that will become large in size, behavioral problems can develop quickly... Seemingly going "from 0 - 60". You know how it goes, kinda like the cute little kid that "gets away with murder". With Oliver, one must constantly remind one's self, to look past his cuteness, and treat him like every other member of the pack... When your not cuddling him that is lol. This way, he'll communicate and fit in with other dogs properly, becoming a healthy and more well-rounded canine. We don't want "the cuties", like Oliver, to turn into People Possessive and or S.A. ridden dogs. I can assure you, there's no fun in that. Lucky for Oliver, he has a good owner that can do right by him.

Anywho, Oliver did a fine job in here. Like Thalia, Oliver too, is welcome here at The Fort anytime. I know the crew can't wait to meet with him again. Checkout these two short and sweet clips of Oliver, playing with doggy-gals Miley and Georgie.

Enjoy any of that sun we get,

-Grant

Outstanding Oliver

Today we assessed the extremely good looking, Oliver. He is a six year old, seventeen pound, Pekingese.

Oliver stayed with us in the Little Roll and did well. He didn't play a whole lot, but seemed very happy and content with his new surroundings. Oliver became excited when new dogs arrived and the pack grew. He's attended Dog Daycare before, so we believe he'll find his "groove" here, most likely playing more, given some time and consistency. This good lookin little fella should become a great Fort Fido "little roller".

We hope to see Oliver bust out into some rigorous play, but if not, that's ok too. He is a great dog that is welcome to The Fort anytime. Lucky for us, we'll be seeing him again soon.

Have a great weekend,

-Grant

All-About-It Oliver!

This last Saturday we got the opportunity to meet with Oliver. He is a five year old, twenty-four pound, cream/fawn colored, French Bulldog. Oliver had his assessment in The Fort's Medium Roll. In there with the others, he loved it! He did an excellent job, meeting and greeting with several pack members. Oliver's enthusiastic and active personality, made him a fun dog to have around here. We look forward to his return to Fort Fido, he is welcome anytime.

We were even lucky enough to score a couple clips of Oliver, getting to know the livewire, Pupcake. These two really got along well together.

Stay dry,

-Grant

Carefree Cooper

Meet Cooper! He is a super-cute, four year old, seventeen pound, brown and white colored, Shih Tzu/Bichon Frise Mix... That had his assessment this morning. Cooper spent his time in Fort Fido's Little Roll. He did a wonderful job meeting and greeting with the day's pack. Most importantly, Cooper played wholeheartedly during his stay. He took a special liking to Oliver and Rusty, among others. It was a great day for Cooper here at The Fort, he did a fantastic job and enjoyed his stay. We look forward to his next visit. A special "Thank You!" goes out to Little Miss Pearl, for recommending that Mr. Cooper give Dog Daycare a shot. We appreciate it!

Take care,

-Grant

Two speeds: stop and go go go!

Last night things got pretty cuddly with these sweet sleepers! Cayenne and Louis were best buds, and Tikvah really liked squeezing into the tiny bed, haha. Reminds me of a certain bulldog that stays with us ;-)

The sleepiness ended when we opened up shop for the day's daycare dogs, and we got some great peeks at the action in all three areas. Upstairs, Marlee and Oliver were trying to figure out how to play fetch and share at the same time. Hilarity ensues!

In the Medium Pack, Tikvah was running amok with pals Lucy and Phoebe. These girls definitely know how to have a good time.

Large pups Max and Red had a "clash of the titans" in the big roll. These boys had a great time together, and were a really well-matched pair.

After this rip-roarin' day, we'll have some more cute sleepers tonight I bet!

A Boston Bash

Our Boston Terriers met today and it went magnificently. New Boston gal Lucy tried out the Medium Roll with Bogie and Sofee. Lucy did awesome with the medium pack and had one heck of a hoopla. This is probably where she'll stay for now. Lucy gets much more out of Dog Daycare this way. Here are two clips showing just a bit of the Terrier action. Please excuse Mini Poodle Oliver, he had a quick mounting session before I could say anything hahaha.

Have a great day, enjoy that sun.

))) Here comes 2011 ! (((

2010 was a good year but I'm definitely ready to hail in 2011! Thank you for being such marvelous customers and supporting Fort Fido Doggie Daycare.

Have a joyous and safe New Year's Celebration. I wish everyone much happiness and prosperity for the upcoming year.

I'll leave you with two clips from today. By the way, our new buddy Cooper started playing today, score!

Cheers,

-Grant
P.S. If you are looking for something fun to do tomorrow, head over to the little town of Olalla (right outside of Gig Harbor), specifically the Olalla Bridge. At Noon there is an exciting Polar Bear Jump and bonfire. It's entertaining to watch all the nuts jump into the freezing cold lol... I was one of them two years ago but I only need to be in water that cold once in my life. :)
