Meet Max & Teddy

Yesterday Max strolled in for his Assessment. He is a super-cute, three month old, fifteen pound, German Short haired Pointer. This darling little pup was happy and excited to get his morning at The Fort started. In the Medium Roll, Max first met with Miss Georgie "The Wild Woman", who was a lot of personality for him, yet he handled her very well. The two canines hit it off quite nicely, once Max realized that, Georgie, is really just all about high-paced play. Throughout the morning puppy-Max did a fine job of integrating with the pack. He socialized and played his heart out, while communicating well with the other canines. Max also took great ques from the elder dogs, and learned a lot, he'll be able to extract much positivity out of Dog Daycare, and he'll most definitely burn off some excess energy.

Here, Max meets Georgie for the first time.

Today was Teddy's Assessment Day. He is a handsome, three year old, apricot and red colored, Miniature Poodle. We had Teddy try our Little Roll Play Area on for size. Up there, Teddy didn't do half bad. He meandered about his new found area, meeting and greeting, most commendably, with the others. Teddy didn't get into much play, he's going to need time and consistency to get the most he can out of Fort Fido.

Welcome Max & Teddy, we'll see you two around!

Cheers,

-Grant

Bailey Day

This morning we welcomed Bailey into The Fort. Bailey is one cute 22-pound golden retriever pup! Bailey came in with no worries this morning and got right to playing with Georgie within the medium roll. When Georgie saw Baxter, she was ready to greet and play with Baxter. Take a gander of their playfulness below.
We look forward to seeing Bailey return to Fort Fido to play some more!

Have an awesome day and stay warm.

How about...

A few fun clips from the Medium and Big Rolls? Enjoy!

Georgie and Nemo got going strong early this morn...

They continued their "fierce" wrestle-play throughout the A.M., adding Angel to the mix.

Over in the Big Roll, it was your typical "Reilly Show", with him getting several other canines involved in play, including Oliver, and young-buck Ryker.

Good times!

All the way from District 12...

It's Katniss! LOL.

She is a one year old, about forty pound, Black Labrador Retriever, who had her assessment this morning. Katniss did very well in our Medium Roll Play Area, and she could even do fine in our Big Roll Play Area as well. She is a happy canine, that is all about getting along with others and having fun. The Fort will prove to be a awesome venue for Katniss to enjoy herself, and burn off any extra energy. She is welcome to attend Fort Fido anytime. First-rate job girl!

I'll let the following clips speak for themselves... They feature Katniss, loving it here with Georgie and Petey. Good stuff!

Take care,

Pumped-Up Petey

The excitement continues this week, with Fort Fido's third new "Assessment Dog", Petey. He is a eight month old, seventeen pound, blue and white colored, Italian Greyhound. Although small, Petey is a wiry and fast little fella, so much so, that his owners and I wanted to fit him in with the proper group right away. Based just on his size, he looks like he might head to the Little Roll, however, given his penchant for playing hard, and his lightning-speed, we knew that the Medium Roll would be more fitting for Petey. Fortunately we were right. After entering the play area tentatively, it wasn't long before Petey got quite comfortable... Meeting up with the rambunctious, Georgie, helped him find his groove quickly. The two canines begin to rip around the Roll right away, becoming playmates almost instantly. As more canines entered and the pack grew, Petey, continued to speak decent "Dog", and made quite a few more "friends". Petey definitely had a blast here today. Like dynamite, he is a lot of canine in a little package lol. We believe he will fit in and work well here. Welcome to The Fort Petey!

Here, Petey and Georgie run amok! They continued to do that off and on for hours.

Take care,

-Grant

Sheltie Power!

Man, it has been awesome around these parts lately... We've had quite the influx of one of my favorite dog breeds, The Shetland Sheepdog. This morning marked the fourth "Sheltie" that The Fort has assessed in the last two months. Woo hoo! It's funny, because after eight years of being in business, we've only seen three other shelties before the current four. So including my dog, Gibson, there are currently six Shetland Sheepdogs here at Fort Fido. Maybe their popularity is on the rise once again? They were definitely most popular in the 80's/early 90's, and were Japan's most popular breed for years up until recently. I'm chalking it up to celebs getting them... Thanks Miley lol!

Ok, now in all seriousness, meet our latest recruit, Augie! He is a energy-filled, seven month old, fourteen pound, Sheltie. We had Augie try out the Little Roll upstairs, just to see how it'd go, knowing that he'd most likely graduate to the Medium Roll... Sure enough, he was too much for the tykes up there. He did nothing wrong, he just needs more room, more stimulation, and more rough and tumble types of playmates. So after a couple of minutes upstairs, Augie headed to the Medium Play Area. Waiting there, was the absolutely perfect dog to meet Augie, and match his energy level, it was none other than, Georgie. The twosome sniffed each other for about ten seconds, before the sprinting and chase games ensued. Augie's owner was not joking when she said he was a "wild one". All in good fun, Augie continued to make new canine buddies and play hard throughout his stay. Although quite a live-wire, Augie, did a great job here today. With time and consistency, Augie and his owner can get quite a lot out of Dog Daycare. It will sharpen his social skills, and will most definetly take away "some" of his energy. Hopefully he's "down a notch" after today's visit, haha!

In the following clip, Augie and Georgie, meet for the first time:

Clip Reel...

Roll it!

Today in the Big Roll play area, we had a lot of action involving Max, Liberty, and Reilly... Border Collie Max, sure knows how to stir up the fun!

Big puppy-head, Oliver, has recently "graduated" from the Medium Roll to the Big Roll. He is experiencing his second day of the Large Pack today. We are glad he's made the move, and sure enough, as you can see, he is doing well and loving his new digs/friends.

In the Medium Roll today, it was our normal "cyclone of fur" that is Lucky and Yuki hahaha!

As usual, Georgie played her tail off, this time with "siblings" Lucy and Max. Awesome stuff.

Upstairs in the Little Roll, we had our cute Wednesday Regulars, and of course, lots of ball time. Sometimes, it can be rather hard to catch the little dogs engaging in dyadic (one on one), wrestling-style play... Today however, we got lucky. Here are Fort Fido mainstays, Oreo and Samarah, having a darn good time together.

Welcome Zoey

Today we assessed Zoey. She is a five month old, thirty-five pound, Boxer. Zoey stayed in The Fort's Medium Roll where she thrived. This young Dog Daycare regular, is already quite social, and adept at canine communication. Zoey is a very sweet dog, that fit in well with the pack. She played with a few different Fort Fido members, with Georgie and Jack, becoming her favorites.

Here is a couple little shots of Zoey in action:

Well done today Zoey, you may visit whenever you'd like.

Be well,

-Grant

Happy-Hardy-Haley

Feast your eyes on this fine specimen, Haley. She came into The Fort this morning, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, for her assessment. This darn cute, four month old, forty pound, German Shepherd Mix, is fun and full of energy. Her "Uncle", Sammy, is a Medium Roll Regular. The twosome, frequent the local dog parks, and routinely have a blast at them. Luckily for us, Sammy has been helping Haley learn how to play, socialize, and speak good "Dog". It most definitely shows, because Haley did an outstanding job here today, acting as if she had already been here many times before. She is welcome to come back to Fort Fido anytime.

Take a gander at these two clips of Haley, playing with Georgie and Molly. Please excuse the contrast, it's hard to see Black Lab Pup Molly against our dark colored floor lol.

Happy Valentine's Day,

-Grant

A lil action from 1/28

Featuring mostly the Medium Roll, in all of it's fast and furious glory... Lot's of high-paced Lucky, Georgie, Phoebe, Jackson, Cooper, and Cayenne play. You can spot quite a few other colorful characters as well.

There's a little clip of Theodore and Summer from the Big Roll too.

Have a great day,

Lucy the Livewire

Meet The Fort's latest new pup, Lucy! She is a four month old, seventeen pound, Black Labrador Retriever Mix. Lucy had her assessment here this morning. She entered Fort Fido happily, and was quite curious about her new surroundings. We decided it would be best if Lucy tried out the Medium Roll right from the get go. This proved to be a good decision, the Medium Roll was the right "speed" for Lucy. Lucy was able to make pals effortlessly. She had a fun time here and enjoyed the company of Georgie, Mac, and others. We look forward to the return of this spunky young canine.

Checkout Lucy in the following clips:

== Bodacious Beagle ==

Capping off our busy and New-Dog-filled week, was Beagle. She is a one year old, eighteen pound... Yes, you guessed it... Beagle! Although small in stature, due to coming from a large litter, Beagle is "large" with personality. Because of this, we decided to try her in The Fort's Medium Roll. This way, she will be able to get much more out of her Dog Daycare experience. Sometimes we must match groups of dogs by their play-styles and energy levels, rather than just their size. After a little bit of "meeting & greeting" with the pack, Beagle was swiftly on to play. She's quite the social-butterfly, seemingly interested in every single canine she comes across. Beagle did an awesome job today and we hope to see her here again in the future.
Here is Little Miss Beagle gallivanting with the likes of Georgie, Mac, and others.

A few clips...

From today!

It was a really good mix upstairs in the Little Roll. Gherie was quite the baller, and he played hard, as he usually does. The rest of the Little Pack had fun as well.

In the Medium Roll, Barkley and Gracie, shared in some "doodle love" lol.

Also in the Medium Roll, Georgie and Molly, chased each other around for a good portion of the day. They're like "two peas in a pod".

Scoutin' it out!

This morning we were excited to assess Scout. She is an eight month old, thirty-eight pound, brown and brindle, Labrador Retriever/ Bavarian Mountain Hound Mix. Now Scout is a very nice dog that is very sociable. She took to the Medium Roll with ease, and it was truly a perfect fit for her. Scout played a bunch with several different members of the pack, taking quite a liking to Georgie and Louis, among others. We are thrilled to have Scout amongst our ranks here at The Fort. We are also happy for her owners, they have scored a great canine companion. She's certainly welcome here anytime. First-rate job today girl!

Checkout these two clips of Scout in action, she is having a blast!

Be well,

- Georgie -

Take a gander at The Fort's newest member, Georgie! She is a ten month old, twenty-one pound, red and white colored, Boston Terrier. Now this little gal was eager to meet the pack. She did so with gusto, playing wholeheartedly in our Medium Roll. She's no stranger to canine socialization, this wasn't her first time at the rodeo lol. Georgie loves going to the dog-park, and has attended Dog Daycare regularly. Georgie is welcome to attend Fort Fido anytime, and we look forward to seeing her high-spirited self again.

Here's a clip of Miss Georgie in the thick of it, having a grand old time with Sahale, amongst several others.
