A few clips...

From today!

It was a really good mix upstairs in the Little Roll. Gherie was quite the baller, and he played hard, as he usually does. The rest of the Little Pack had fun as well.

In the Medium Roll, Barkley and Gracie, shared in some "doodle love" lol.

Also in the Medium Roll, Georgie and Molly, chased each other around for a good portion of the day. They're like "two peas in a pod".

Take it easy,

-Grant

From the Medium Roll:

Shepherd Time! Featuring Bess and Kingsley.

Pancake gets down with them too!

Also, we had a whole lot of long-time pals, Lucy & Gracie, ripping it up today.

In the Big Roll:

We had some "Golden Boys", Finn & Jack, becoming the best of friends.

There was  a wee bit of "Dane Love" happening as well... You know, the love affair that is, Athena & Theodore.

Upstairs in the Little Roll, they were not to be outdone! This clip features a small cross section of today's fun-filled events.

Be well,

Another Presidential Pooch

You've probably heard about Bo, the Obama family's first pup, a Portuguese Water Dog. Now, get a load of Sunny, another young and good looking Portuguese Water Dog. Wow! The First Family is really into this breed, but, I get it lol, they are pretty neat canines.

Cute stuff, I wonder if the dogs can play alone outside? Or do they too need a body guard(s) lol?

Take it easy,

-Grant
P.S. Ya know, The Fort also has a wonderful little Chocolate Colored PWD... Kona! Here she is playing hard with Gracie a while back.

The Shadow Knows

Meet Shadow! Now fortunately for us, he isn't anything like the once popular comic character, he is much more easy going, happy, and fun lol. Shadow is a two year old, thirty-five pound, black colored, Labradoodle. He had his assessment today in the Medium Roll, and is staying with us for Overnight Boarding. Shadow is a very nice dog that has been socialized well. He is the younger "dog brother" of Fort Fido Friend Chance... The two make an extremely amusing and striking duo, due to their cheerful personalities and contrasting colors. Shadow is doing well with the pack, and has been enjoying his stay since early this morning, playing quite a bit with Gracie and Yuki, among others. Keep up the first-rate work there Shadow, you are doing great.... O, and Chance, keep an eye on him would ya? Thanks! Haha.

Cheers,

-Grant
P.S. A special congratulations goes out to Teresa & Dennis on their new marriage! Hooray!

This morning (7/16/12) we assessed Doggie Daycare Veteran Gracie.

She is a six year old, fifty-three pound, Hound Mix. Gracie handled our Medium Roll with confidence and ease. She has socialized with other dogs quite a bit in her life. Attending Fort Fido was a walk in the park for her, which is always great for us too! Gracie has plans to come to Dog Daycare again because there is a new baby in her family (Congratulations!). A little extra attention from the group at The Fort will be just the ticket for Gracie. Getting out some extra canine energy, should allow things to go even smoother on the home-front. Especially with the new arrival.

Welcome, Gracie! We are more than happy to have you. Wonderful work today.

Enjoy your week,

-Grant

Honaw found & Clips

We received some good news this morning... Lost pooch Honaw has been found. Apparently he popped up at the Tacoma Humane Society. Way to go! That must have been on emotional roller-coaster!

A few clips from today:

Ryker and Sadie demonstrated lots of fair and balanced play in the Big Roll.

In the Medium Roll, Cody and Gracie rocked their "Doodle Style" lol.

Not to be outdone, the Little Roll had a wonderful group of wily rascals in rigorous play. There was even a lot of wrestling between them.

Cheers,

-Grant

Goody Gracie Lou

Today we have another wonderful Gracie in the house. Meet Gracie Lou! She is a six year old, 112 pound, Black Labrador Retriever that assessed in the wee hours this morning. Gracie has met a dog or two in her day, there is no doubt about it. She enjoyed her stay in our Big Roll and played with quite a few different dogs. Like many canines, we think that Gracie could really benefit from attending The Fort. She is a very nice dog that is welcome back anytime. That a girl Gracie!

Take care,

-Grant
P.S. I came across, this link, this morning... You just gotta check it out lol! I just realized what I am, "A Professional Animal Waste Specialist"! Hahaha! ;)

Busy week ends with Gregarious Gracie!

We did it! Not that I doubted us, or any of the new dogs for that matter lol... But, you just never know sometimes. Needless to say, I don't Blog about the canines that don't cut the mustard. Luckily, it's rare, we chat with folks about their dog far before the assessment date. We also go over our handy application. We've carefully designed the questions on it to give us all the information we need. Nine times out of ten, we'll know if a dog is going to work out here or not. Long before they step one paw into the lobby. :) I've touched on this before in my post "Giving The Boot".

All six of our assessments (new dogs) passed this week. There wasn't one "hitch in our giddy-up" haha. Excellent!

Now onto the show... Say hello to Gracie. She is a lively, one year old, thirty-five pound, Australian Labradoodle. This is a popular breed for us at Fort Fido. These dogs are cute, active and hypoallergenic. We definitely see why folks fall in love with them. Gracie sprinted around our Medium Roll like there was no tomorrow. She fits right in with that high-energy group. We believe Gracie will learn a lot here at The Fort. She'll certainly expel some of that "doodle-power" at the very least.

Here she is, just starting to get into it with Tilly...

Then, a bit later, she has officially "Busted Out", look at her go!

Enjoy your rainy weekend,

-Grant

Medium Monday

Not a medium dog but hey it looks like a medium sized mug ;)

It was pretty much non-stop crazy fun in the Medium Roll today... Only had to intervene a few times, that's good lol. There was just the right mix of hard playing regulars ready to let out their energy. Have a look:

Have a great week!

clips and liks

Hi there, hope your Monday is going good. Here are a few links and clips from today for ya.

The Medium Roll had the trio of friends Gracie , Sadie & Sofee mixing it up all day today.

From the Little Roll we find Mr. Pee-Wee acquiring a "girly friend" in Pearl. Good luck Pee-Wee, Pearl's a whole lot of woman hahaha.

Oops! & Two great pics!

On Yesterdays post, I forgot to mention another member of the "Luther Pack" that attended The Fort regularly until her passing. Doh! My apologies for not mentioning you Miss Gracie. She was one heck of a dog, one of the oldest The Fort has ever had in the Big Roll. Although she was sort of on her "last legs" when she started, she was extremely sweet and did surprisingly well with the pack.

In other news... Hannah and Logan's ma sent me in two great pictures this morning. The pups just had their very first beauty parlor day hahaha. Don't they look sharp? Hannah's face is priceless and Logan looks to be his charming self, as usual!

Cheers,

-Grant
P.S. As always, email us those awesome pics of your Fort Fido dog. We like to collect them and love putting them up on our blog.

Upbeat Annie

This morning was assessment day with Annie. She is a cheerful, four year old, seventy-two pound, Golden Retriever. We tried Annie in the Medium Roll and she did pretty well, she even played a little bit, which is always good on a first day. Annie's niece, Gracie, has been coming to The Fort for about a month. I'm sure we will see the two in action here someday. Annie is welcome to comeback to Fort Fido anytime. We are glad that she seemed to enjoy her stay and hope to see her back soon.

Take care, stay dry out there today!

Grrracie!

Gracie came in for her assessment earlier today. She is a three year old, seventy pound, savvy little blond... I mean, Yellow Labrador Retriever. Gracie hung out in the Big Roll, she was ready for the fun to begin as soon as she got in. Denali was the first dog she got to meet, they went side to side, sniffed each other up and tails were a waggin'. Shortly after, the majority of the pack showed up. Gracie started playing with several different dogs, she speaks good "Dog" and definitely passed her assessment.

Way to be Gracie, hope to see you again!

Have a nice weekend,

-Grant

One interesting note, a few of our customers have worked with Ron. A second interesting note is that his Niece's dog, Marley, just had his assessment about three weeks ago. Small world!

Zach and Zoey ! !

Zachary and Zoey are best buddies! They are even good friends with Fort Fido's friend Gracie. Zachary is a five year old, 24 pound, Blonde, Lhasa Apso. Zoey is a six year old, 24 pound, Reddish Blonde, Lhasa Apso / Bichon Frise Mix. Zachary ventured out and greeted the pack well. Zoey took her time but did socialize a bit with Zachary in the lead. These pups did just fine in the Little Roll and we hope to see them again soon.

Have a nice sunny Monday! ;)
