New Fort Friends!

This morning at The Fort, we got to assess a couple of really neat pups! Sam, the 5 month old cream Shiba Inu (who could pass for Yuki's twin). A high spirited and energetic pup that did great, romping in the Med. Roll. with other Fido friends, Walter, and Beau. Another great addition to an already great pack. Hope to see you back very soon!

This clip also features our other assessment for today, who's name also happens to be Walter!

Walter, a year and a half old Carin Terrier mix, mixed it up with the other high energy pups in our Med. Roll this morning. While also taking time to take in the new smells, and refereeing the action, he had to jump in on some of the fun too! I'm sure that Walter will be having even more fun in time, as he builds positive associations with not only The Fort itself, but with the dogs and employees that spend their time with us.

Thanks again for reading and don't forget to grab some free samples of our 3 flavors of new dog treats!
We have started carrying Fromm's Dog Treats and they are available in our lobby.
check out the link for more information about these deliciously organic appetizers!
see you next week!

Heroes of our day!

Rogue and Storm!! This dynamic duo came and assessed this morning and passed with flying colors. A pair of Lab/Boxer mixes that are a sweet 5 months old. Ready to rip it up in our medium roll, they got straight to the action with our other pups Max, Marlee, and Walter.

Not unlike the comic book "X-men", these two live, eat, and play together everyday. Thundering around the play area, Storm loved to test the waters with his new friends, playing chase and chasing in return.

Keeping in line with her namesake, Rogue stood back a bit and watched, learned from, and generally followed storm's footsteps throughout the morning, nosing around and getting used to the surroundings, while waiting for her chance to steal the show.

Over all, these dogs were a blast to have around, and I'm sure they will grow to be an amazing pair of dogs here in our pack.

Thanks for reading, and be sure to check back frequently to keep up to date on Fort Fido's happenings

Welcoming more pups to the pack!

This morning we welcomed Thavy, an 8 year old yellow lab. Who was very nice and spoke great dog, but wasn't super quick to jump into play mode. She did sniff around and start to learn the abundance of new smells. During her morning visit she met the other members of her new pack while settling into the daycare environment. I'm sure that The Fort will become more comfortable as she stays with us this weekend, and she will grow to be a valuable member of the pack.
We also welcomed Dax's brother Shep to the pack today. He is a 3 year old Australian Cattle Dog. Nosing around the fences and getting to know the other dogs smells was his mission today. Even though he did not play much, Shep started building his social skills in a positive way, which will help him make tons of new friends here at The Fort. Dax showed him that even though its a new place, it was a fun place, and by playing for a short time, helped Shep be more and more comfortable as the day progressed.

Bow Wow Boomer!

Today at The Fort, we welcome Boomer! A gregarious 3 year old Yellow Lab, who wasted no time jumping into the fun with the other Big Rollers.  In this clip we have Boomer and Gage getting their early morning romp out of the way. Boomer and Theodore shortly became great friends frolicking around and throwing worries to the wind! I know that he will be a great addition to the pack, and that Boomer will learn, grow, and really enjoy his time with us.
Glad to have you around Boomer!!
We have been getting a lot of new dogs lately and it has been awesome to build the relationships with you guys and your beloved dogs, and to watch as The Fort itself evolves and grows into something even more spectacular (not that it wasn't before!). I am honestly very happy to be a part of the Fort Fido team, and family. Thanks for having me!!

Mischevious Max!

We rounded out our week with one last awesome "newbie." Little Max is a Border Collie-mix, and stole our hearts right away with his smashing good looks. Curious and smart, he had a good time checking out the other dogs in the medium roll. He was a little trepidatious of the bigger guys, but did well with the pups closer to his own size-- the ever-playful Rudy kept him company, as did our boarding buddy Frances.

Max is joining the Fort at a great time for socialization. The puppy months are especially important for exposing your dog to new people, places, pups, and experiences. Having such a wide range of experience under his belt should help this little guy to grow up balanced and confident. We look forward to watching him grow and learn!
