Meet Mr. Lucky! He is a charming, eight year old, thirty-one pound, white and light-brown colored, Cavachon... Which is a lovely mixture of Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Bichon Frise. This Dog Daycare and Overnight Boarding Veteran, stayed with us in our Medium Roll. There, Lucky, wagged his tail and sniffed about while leisurely getting to know the Play Area. As we introduced him to members of our pack, he seemed delighted to "meet and greet" with them. For the majority of his stay, Lucky carried with him, an easy-going and comfortable attitude. Although he didn't get into much play, his actions implied that he was pretty comfortable here at The Fort. We enjoyed Lucky, and we hope that he will enjoy staying with us. We would like to see him get involved into some more physical play, and believe that there is a good chance he will... Especially, after he spends some more time here at Fort Fido. Lucky, you had a tremendous first day, good on ya bud!
Cheers,
-Grant

Out-of-sight Otto!
Please welcome Otto to The Fort! He is a rascally looking, two year old, thirty-one pound, tan/ multi-colored, Bichon Frise/Rat Terrier/ Border Collie Mixed Breed. Otto strolled into the lobby this morning with his nose to the ground, curious about our place, and ready for his assessment day. After entering the Medium Roll Play Area, Otto got straight to introductions, meeting with the pack healthily. He's a fun-loving canine that has pretty darn good dog-communication skills. Most awesomely, Otto began to play within minutes of his arrival, he "got down" with the likes of Lucky and Cayenne, among several others. Otto shall prove to be a great addition to Fort Fido, because he is a kindly dog that enjoys being with the pack. We most definitely look forward to his return.
Have a great weekend,

Three New Dogs!
This last Saturday we assessed Toma. He is a cute, twelve year old, fifteen pound, Bichon Frise. This happy little fella hung out at The Fort and did well. "Toma from Tacoma" is playful, energetic, and speaks good "DOG". Even though he is a bit older than your average Fort Fido regular, you wouldn't know it! Toma's a champ who doesn't seem a day over six.Next up, also assessed on Saturday after Toma, was Sunny. Sunny is a ten year old, ninety-six pound, beautiful golden colored, Labrador Retriever Mix. Sunny stayed with us and didn't do half bad. She was a bit shy at first, but warmed up, and became more comfortable here as the day progressed. Given time and consistency, we believe Sunny will become more relaxed here, and get more out of each visit.
Last, but certainly not least, is Abbey. Abbey had her assessment this morning, she is a six month old, fifty-two pound, Black Labrador Retriever. A very sweet dog, Abbey did a nice job getting to know the other pack members in our Medium Roll play area. She is a dog park regular, that's just so happened to meet a few Fort Fido dogs while out and about. Here today, she didn't play a whole lot, however, it was her first time away from family. Given that, Abbey really did awesome. We're almost certain that she will play more, once she gets a couple of visits under her belt.March is typically our busiest month. This March has been no exception, and we are fortunate to have had such an influx of great new canines joining up... Including Toma, Sunny, and Abbey! They are all welcome back anytime.
Thank you to all of our wonderful customers for spreading the word about Fort Fido.Enjoy that sun, take care,
-Grant

Carefree Cooper
Meet Cooper! He is a super-cute, four year old, seventeen pound, brown and white colored, Shih Tzu/Bichon Frise Mix... That had his assessment this morning. Cooper spent his time in Fort Fido's Little Roll. He did a wonderful job meeting and greeting with the day's pack. Most importantly, Cooper played wholeheartedly during his stay. He took a special liking to Oliver and Rusty, among others. It was a great day for Cooper here at The Fort, he did a fantastic job and enjoyed his stay. We look forward to his next visit. A special "Thank You!" goes out to Little Miss Pearl, for recommending that Mr. Cooper give Dog Daycare a shot. We appreciate it!

- Double Dog Dare -
That's right!Meet Davey and Duncan, two brothers from another mother (same family) who assessed Tuesday morning.
Davey is a seven year old, thirty pound Bichon Frisé.
Duncan is a eight year old, sixteen pound Bichon Frisé.
Both of these crafty characters are really neat dogs. They each have loads of personality. Did I mention that they also come with their own charming good looks? Lol, I can't stop chuckling over that picture of Duncan... It's too perfect! These two good-humored gents did well upstairs in the Little Roll. They got along just fine with the other tail-waggers. We anticipate, with much pleasure, having this duo in here again. Davey and Duncan's owners, are doing their best to provide a more balanced and enjoyable life for the dogs. Way to go! Getting them around The Fort's Pack is just what the doctor ordered. A regular, good-old-fashioned, "Doggy Social", shall suit them favorably. We believe, given time and consistency, Davey and Duncan will really begin to get enjoyment out of Dog Daycare.
Take it easy,
-Grant

- Cutie-pie Chloe -

Welcome Chloe, she had her assessment today. Chloe is a ten month old, nine pound, Cavachon. She is a darn cute little pup that wasn't too sure what to think of the little pack and was a bit shy. We think her curiosity and playful spirit will bring out the best of her in time. As she gets more comfortable with the other dogs she should truly thrive.
Chloe's owners are excited and eager to learn new ways to better their pet, we really respect that, very cool! She is well on her way to becoming a well balanced member of the Fort Fido pack. Nice job Chloe!
Cheers,
-Grant
P.S. Louis's ma, Sandy, told me about this wonderful adoption event that is coming up later this month. If only I had the room for one of those speedy guys. Sandy used to have a rescue Greyhound named Grant, haha, funny!

Ruff and Tumble

Woo man... This morning's assessment was Ruff!
:)
Ruff is a four year old, seventeen pound, exceptionally cute, Bichon Frise / Miniature Poodle Mix. What a nice guy Ruff is, he spent time upstairs in the Little Roll and did good. He sniffed around a bit and even played some. It was actually quite a "smooth sailing" ;) assessment. We think that Ruff enjoyed his stay, he is welcome back anytime, hopefully he returns soon.
Happy Monday, welcome back sun!

Welcome two, new to the crew!

We had two first rate assessments early this morning. Two dogs from the same family but each was very much an individual.
First up was Annie. She is a pretty little, two year old, twelve pound, white and cream, Maltese / Bichon Frise Mix. Annie headed up to the Little Roll and did ok. She showed some interest in the other dogs and relaxed as more dogs came in. We think Annie enjoyed the calming effect of the pack. Hopefully she'll bust out and play soon.
Second was Murphy. He is a six year old, eighty pound, tan, Labradoodle. Murphy traveled to the Big Roll. He is a very friendly dog that has big, brown, expressive eyes. Once Murphy get's used to daycare, we think he will be one of the popular ones hehe. All the dogs seemed to like him but he was just a little cautious. Hopefully it's just first day jitters. Once he gets in the groove he should start having a blast.
Way to go Annie and Murphy! We'll see you again soon.
Have a great day everybody,
-Grant

Zach and Zoey ! !

Zachary and Zoey are best buddies! They are even good friends with Fort Fido's friend Gracie. Zachary is a five year old, 24 pound, Blonde, Lhasa Apso. Zoey is a six year old, 24 pound, Reddish Blonde, Lhasa Apso / Bichon Frise Mix. Zachary ventured out and greeted the pack well. Zoey took her time but did socialize a bit with Zachary in the lead. These pups did just fine in the Little Roll and we hope to see them again soon.
Have a nice sunny Monday! ;)

3 new pups ! ! !
Woo, what a morning... We had three assessments at Fort Fido today. Lucky for everyone they all turned out pretty darn good. Here was the lineup:
Sophie is a seven year old, 85 pound, Black and Tan German Shepherd. She headed to the Big Roll and did well. Sophie spoke "good dog" and had tons of energy for an older gal.
Charlie is a three year old, 15 pound, Bichon Frise. Charlie was sent upstairs to the Little Roll. He got right to work fitting in with the pack. Charlie was a happy, confident, all-around good dog.
The third assessment is another cutie named Charlie. This Charlie is a three month old, two and a half pound, Sable and White Japanese Chin. He is still just a baby, still learning the ropes but we already see a courageous personality emerging.
It was a good old eventful morning!
Take it easy,
-Grant

What it is all about!
I'm in a Video Clip posting mood... Besides, I know that's what everyone wants to see anyway, forget my ramblings lol, here it is.
I've said it before but this clip is Daycare in a nutshell, or at least what we love about it, the dogs having a total blast! Gus (a Bichon Frise / Yorkshire Terrier Mix) is engaging in an epic Tug of war with Barkley the chocolate-colored Mini Poodle.

We are back!
Hi there, I hope everyone had a great break and Holiday, we sure did. Now we are back in action and ready to rock!
Seamus is a Cocker Spaniel / Bichon Frise that has been coming to Fort Fido since we first opened. We call him the "Little Lamb" cause he is so darn cute, like a little lamb lol. He is almost 4 years old, around 15 pounds and is a light apricot color. Seamus loves coming to the fort and runs up to the little roll faster than any other pup. He is quite agile and athletic, jumping super high for his size. His owner Mary sent me a link to this great video, check it out, it got me in the Xmas spirit with a good chuckle. Thanks Mary!
Take care,
-Grant
