Today we had the pleasure of welcoming Sidney to Fort Fido. Sidney is a young 13 week-old, 23 lbs., Black Lab. Sidney entered our front doors and she was curious about this new place she has never been to before. She made her way into our Medium Dog Program and right away was ready to meet others. Sidney began to play and have lots of fun during her stay here while learning some "dog speak." Sidney is a fun and curious puppy, we are looking forward to seeing her some more.
Have a wonderful day,
- Sophia

Rose
Today we assessed the happy-go-lucky pup, Rose. She is a very sweet and slightly shy, four month old, twenty-seven pound, Yellow Labrador Retriever. Rose wiggled through our lobby with much curiosity. From there, we escorted her to The Fort's Medium Roll Play Area, where we knew she'd be a perfect fit. Once inside the roll, Rose proceeded to explore it with caution. After a little bit of time passed, we had her meet up with Dolce. The two dogs exchanged healthy greetings, and then ran around together, most definitely enjoying each other's company. Throughout the morning, Rose met up with the rest of the pack, doing really well but experiencing a wee bit of "sensory overload" lol. Rose is here to hone her canine social skills and get out a bit of that puppy-energy. She has an awesome temperament, and we know that she can grow up to be a well balanced adult canine. Rose can also get a lot out of the Dog Daycare environment. Welcome Rose, you did a fine job today and we look forward to seeing you again at Fort Fido!
You can watch a bit of, Rose meeting up with Dolce, in the following clip:

A dog named Xu!
Get a load of Xu, pronounced "Sue". She is a energetic, three month old, about 20 pound, copper colored, Golden Retriever. This striking golden gal leaped into the Fort Fido lobby, ready for a morning full of excitement. A young canine, Xu is here to get out some energy and learn how to socialize properly. She is the perfect age to start Dog Daycare! As expected, Xu got to playing and socializing with the Medium Roll Pack, within minutes of her arrival. She enjoyed romping around in the play area with Lucky, Ruby, and several others. Puppies sure do great here at The Fort, and we love having them... They get in early, learn the ropes quickly, and thrive, growing into well-versed adult dogs. Xu, we are looking forward to helping you hone your canine communication skills and watching you grow. We'll see you around soon, welcome! Here are a few snippets of Xu in action, enjoy.
Take care,
-Grant

Summer came early!
Although Summer doesn't officially start until the 21st of June, The Fort got treated to it early yesterday lol... Meet young puppy Summer! She is a super-sweet, three month old, thirty-three pound, German Shepherd/Mastiff Mixed Breed. This loving and playful "little" gal did wonderful for us in the Medium Roll. Summer already speaks great "DOG" for a youngin, which made her transition to our play area flawless. Her gentle disposition serves her well, allowing her to make friends and playmates easily. It was a pleasure to have summer at Fort Fido, we look forward to having her here again. Well done!
Here is a little clip of Summer frolicking with Macey and the pack. Fun!
Stay cool folks,
-Grant

Mischevious Max!
We rounded out our week with one last awesome "newbie." Little Max is a Border Collie-mix, and stole our hearts right away with his smashing good looks. Curious and smart, he had a good time checking out the other dogs in the medium roll. He was a little trepidatious of the bigger guys, but did well with the pups closer to his own size-- the ever-playful Rudy kept him company, as did our boarding buddy Frances.
Max is joining the Fort at a great time for socialization. The puppy months are especially important for exposing your dog to new people, places, pups, and experiences. Having such a wide range of experience under his belt should help this little guy to grow up balanced and confident. We look forward to watching him grow and learn!
-Hope
