Leo

   

  My heart strings were definitely pulled this morning when I saw this little cutie walk through our doors. Meet, Leo! He's a Miniature Schnauzer that's only eleven weeks old and weighs three pounds. This fierce little guy trotted up to our Puppy Program with lots of confidence and curiosity. He showed wonderful "dog speak" as he mingled with his new playmates and sniffed around his new surroundings.

He also took a great liking to one of The Fort's regulars, Rusty.

As you can see, this little pup had a great first day today. I am very much looking forward to watching him grow, and seeing him return for more daycare fun! Have a good day everyone, try to stay nice and cool!

Welcome Sadie and Shaunte Photos

Yesterday we welcomed Miss Sadie to Fort Fido. She is a happy, three year old, sixteen pound, Maltese and Miniature Schnauzer Mix. Upstairs in the Little Roll, Sadie did a nice job of fitting in with the pack. She didn't play a whole heck of a lot, however she did interact with the group quite a bit, meeting, greeting, and scurrying around lol... Which are all good things, especially on a first day at The Fort, it can be slightly overwhelming for some canines. Sadie kept pretty calm and balanced, and did a good job throughout her Assessment, she is welcome to visit us anytime.

A few days ago, Fort Fido Staff Member, Shaunte, took some outstanding photos while on duty. I thought I'd share them with y'all here, enjoy!

Welcome Cooper on this fine Veteran's Day!

  

Today we assessed young pup Cooper. He is a very handsome, three month old, ten pound, black colored, Miniature Schnauzer. This little guy was eager to try something new, hence visiting us here at The Fort. Cooper hung out in our Little Roll and did just ok, after all, he is very young and new on the scene. Once he got to meet the other pack members, he was excited to play and socialize with them, yet he was bit held back by his need for "human attention". Cooper did however chase the ball around during "ball time", and did interact with the other dogs some... He even showed off some great "play bows".

In order for Cooper to thrive at Fort Fido and at a home, he is going to need a consistent routine and strong leadership. In no time at all he will be an adult canine, and we all want him to become a calm and well balanced one at that! Cooper is on the cusp of a battle with the dreaded, Separation Anxiety, yet, he can get through it, especially as his owner does the needed work to help him through it. Be well Cooper, we'll see you again soon.

Jaunty Jerry

 

Today we had Jerry in for his assessment. He is a striking, five year old, eighteen pound, black colored, Miniature Schnauzer. Jerry entered Fort Fido with a cool mix of confidence and intrigue. We escorted him to the Little Roll, where he'd be spending his time with the pack. Once there, Jerry blended into the play group well, because he speaks pretty darn good "Dog". It's clear that Jerry has socialized with other canines before. Amidst our pack, Jerry played a little bit with the others, and liked chasing after balls and toys. The Fort seems to be a nice fit for Jerry. He has spent time at other boarding facilities in the past, doing good and enjoying himself. Jerry has even traveled as far as Panama! One hilarious fact about Jerry, is that at home, his best friend and playmate is the family cat, too funny.

 

We believe that Jerry will continue to thrive at Fort Fido. He is a neat dog that's welcome any day or night.
