Welcome Sadie and Shaunte Photos
Yesterday we welcomed Miss Sadie to Fort Fido. She is a happy, three year old, sixteen pound, Maltese and Miniature Schnauzer Mix. Upstairs in the Little Roll, Sadie did a nice job of fitting in with the pack. She didn't play a whole heck of a lot, however she did interact with the group quite a bit, meeting, greeting, and scurrying around lol... Which are all good things, especially on a first day at The Fort, it can be slightly overwhelming for some canines. Sadie kept pretty calm and balanced, and did a good job throughout her Assessment, she is welcome to visit us anytime.
A few days ago, Fort Fido Staff Member, Shaunte, took some outstanding photos while on duty. I thought I'd share them with y'all here, enjoy!
Have a great weekend,
-Grant

Bailey & Hugo
Yesterday we welcomed Bailey to The Fort. She is a happy, nine year old, fifty-five pound, Mixed Breed. As Bailey walked into the lobby, it was clear that this "wasn't her first time at the rodeo" lol. She was pretty calm and balanced, definitely a mature and happy canine. With that observation, we had Bailey spend her time in the Medium Roll Play Area. There, she met with each and every pack member joyously, as they rolled in throughout the morning. She had somewhat of a "mothering" quality, that really meshed well with The Medium Roll and it's wide array of small to medium sized, young and wile canines. Bailey exhibited great patience with the pack, and specifically, many of it's "crazy puppy" members. Bailey even played a tiny bit with a couple of different dogs, however most of the time, she just cruised around socializing actively. We're pretty sure that Bailey will be doing a lot more playing in future visits to Fort Fido, time will tell.
This morning was a BIG Assessment morning... Get a load of Hugo! He is a one year old, 150 pound, Great Dane. Talk about a good looking dog (unfortunately our pic doesn't do him justice), Hugo's contrasting colors and harlequin coat pattern make him a site to see. Inside of the Big Roll, he acted fairly calm as he sniffed the floor a bit, in anticipation of meeting some other dogs. After a few minutes passed, the other dogs began to show up, one after another, per usual. Right away, Hugo exhibited to them all, that he speaks quite fluent "Dog", meeting and greeting with each new pack member in the proper way, with much fluidity and canine etiquette. As the pack continued to grow, Hugo continued to socialize well with the other canines, he even began to play a good amount with Jesse and a few others. He's a real "gentle giant", and the pack took to him well.
Both Bailey and Hugo are neat canines that are welcome to hang with us here whenever they'd like. We look forward to their next visits!
Take it easy,

Two great new dogs!
Last Sunday we assessed Max. He is an eight year old, ninety pound, Coonhound. Max stayed in the Big Roll. He was a curious and confident fellow, quite fluent in "Dog Speak" lol. He did very well here, playing with boxer friend, Liberty, among others. Max used to come to The Fort for training, when we had classes here back in the day... Now, he's ready and eager to experience daycare, as well as overnight boarding here at Fort Fido. Unfortunately, we accidentally deleted our digital picture of Max, but I assure you, he is a good lookin canine-dude. We'll get ya next time Max!
This morning we had the pleasure of assessing Bailey. Bailey is a nine year old, twenty-two pound, Cocker Spaniel. This cute little guy hung out with us in our Medium Roll and seemed to enjoy the affair. It was evident that Bailey had met a dog or two in his day. Although he didn't play a whole lot, Bailey was cool, calm, and collected around the others. He is more than welcome to join our ranks.
Awesome job Max and Bailey, we shall see you both soon!
Take care,
-Grant

Tender Tilly

Funny... I heard we were assessing a Mastiff. So of course, I had the image above in my mind. Little Missy Tilly, however, was nothing like I thought she'd be lol. At least not yet!
Tilly had her assessment this morning. Let me tell you, this canine is still very new to the world at barely three months old. She is a Bullmastiff, twenty-seven pounds and the picture of innocence, at this point anyway haha. Tilly was unsure of the Medium Roll and the other dogs in general. Her brother Bailey attends The Fort but he wasn't with her this morning. Tilly started to warm up and become less fearful of the pack after a couple of hours. In our opinion, this one will be busting out in play soon. She just needs some more time at this tender age.
Way to be Tilly! We understand, sometimes the world can be a "big scary place", especially for a babe. You didn't do half-bad. We bet you'll be enjoying your stays here a lot more in time.
Take it easy,
-Grant

Say hello to Bailey!

Bailey was in for his assessment today. He sure is a happy go lucky guy! Bailey is a eight month old, sixty-five pound, Black Labrador Retriever. He had a good time today, played well and tried out both rolls (Big & Medium). Bailey is a nice pup, we think he is really going to do well here.
Have a nice start to your week,
-Grant

Welcome Bailey & Boon Dog!!
Two new dogs were assessed this morning.
Bailey is an eight year old Black Lab that is about 70 pounds. He did quite well in the Big Roll, especially for an older dude, he's still got it lol. :)
Boon Dog was our second Black Lab assessment today. He is only three and a half months old and weighs around 30 pounds. Boon Dog was started in the Medium Roll, he will most likely head to the Big Roll soon.
Both Bailey and Boon Dog looked as though they enjoyed their first day at the fort. That makes us happy and we hope to see more of them.
Enjoy any sun we get this weekend!

Hey there Bailey and some other stuff

Wow, what a busy week of new pups... Luckily for us they all turned out to be pretty awesome. This morning's assessment was no exception. Welcome Bailey, he is a four year old, 35 pound Pug/Beagle mix. He is going to be a grand addition to the Medium Roll!
Here are a few more neat Motorcycle Dog pics from the Oasis Blog.
