Tugs
I've never seen a Boston Terrier with this brindle fur pattern in person before; Tugs was such a cute little thing... We were surprised to see how much energy and personality he had- being eleven years old. Tugs had lots of fun exploring and making new friends. It was apparent that it wasn't his first time at the rodeo! I could tell this guy had gone to other daycares before, because of how well he "spoke dog". Tugs is welcome to come back whenever, and have as much fun in our Medium Dog Program as he wants.
I hope you all enjoy your Friday!

Pugsley the Pug
This little sweetie joined our Small Dog Program yesterday morning. Pugsley is a curious, three year old Pug/Boston Terrier mix that weighs twenty five pounds. The first thing she did when she entered her new hangout was sniff around the floor; checking out all the cool and exciting toys, as well as our picnic table and tire swing. It was cute watching her explore and scope out the place.
I look forward in seeing her return soon
Enjoy the rest of today's beautiful sunshine!

Jaxson, Archie, & Red
Yesterday we welcomed Jaxson. Jaxson is a 125 lbs., 5 year-old, Flat-Coated Retriever. He came into The Fort confidently and made his way into our Large Dog Program. He began to meet the other pups within the Large Dog Program and was cool, calm, and friendly. Jaxson socialized throughout his stay here and we hope to see him return soon.
Today we welcomed two Boston Terriers named Archie and Red. These little rascals came into our Medium Dog Program and were able to meet their look-alike Georgie. As soon as they met Georgie, they immediately saw some similarities in her and began to play. Take a gander below at the fun they had! I'll bet these guys went home happy after their first day.
Stay warm,
- Zach

Stella & Maggie Rose
Today we had Miss Maggie Rose in for her Assessment. She is a sweet, five month old, about ten pound, American Cocker Spaniel. Maggie, is also the new "baby-sister" of Fort Regular, Thorn. Unlike her larger "brother" Thorn, Maggie, tried the Small Dog Play Area on for size. There, she was calm and content, while she explored the new area. As the morning moved on, and the Little Roll Pack began to arrive, Maggie happily met with each member, albeit cautiously. She is here to sharpen her social skills and burn-off some puppy energy. She has a lot to learn, but luckily, she's at the right place to do so, and her owners are doing a fine job of getting her on the right track too. In time, Maggie should certainly become a well rounded adult canine. Throughout the morning, Maggie played hard and socialized very energetically. She also enjoyed giving Little Roller, Dixie, a "run for her money" lol. We believe Maggie can't wait until her next visit and we plan on seeing her again soon.
Take care,
-Grant

- Georgie -
Take a gander at The Fort's newest member, Georgie! She is a ten month old, twenty-one pound, red and white colored, Boston Terrier. Now this little gal was eager to meet the pack. She did so with gusto, playing wholeheartedly in our Medium Roll. She's no stranger to canine socialization, this wasn't her first time at the rodeo lol. Georgie loves going to the dog-park, and has attended Dog Daycare regularly. Georgie is welcome to attend Fort Fido anytime, and we look forward to seeing her high-spirited self again. Here's a clip of Miss Georgie in the thick of it, having a grand old time with Sahale, amongst several others.
Take it easy,

As we slow down a bit...

Whoa, a day without a new dog starting lol. Time to catch our breath. :)
I caught some cute pictures last week of my folks and new pup Rocky. They were safeguarding his tender little feat with some Musher's Secret. Sometimes, a dog new to The Fort, that isn't used to a rubber floor, will play sooo hard that their pads get a little sore. Musher's Secret prevents this, among other things, it is an awesome product!
Here is a clip from today for good measure. Mother Maggie visited the Medium Roll today for a change. Bogie was all over her and she had no problem handling him.
Take it easy,
-Grant

A Boston Bash

Our Boston Terriers met today and it went magnificently. New Boston gal Lucy tried out the Medium Roll with Bogie and Sofee. Lucy did awesome with the medium pack and had one heck of a hoopla. This is probably where she'll stay for now. Lucy gets much more out of Dog Daycare this way. Here are two clips showing just a bit of the Terrier action. Please excuse Mini Poodle Oliver, he had a quick mounting session before I could say anything hahaha.
Have a great day, enjoy that sun.

Lively Lucy

Meet Lucy! She is an eleven month old, twenty-one pound, Boston Terrier that had her assessment this morning. We had Lucy try out our Little Roll and she took to it rather well. Lucy met the other dogs with a playful spirit. As more dogs arrived upstairs, she became even more eager to interact. Lucy ran hard while playing ball and frolicking with the others. We believe her "Dog Speak" skills will only improve as she continues to make friends at The Fort. Outstanding job today Lucy, we will see you back at Fort Fido in no time. Now, here are two super clips of Lucy socializing this morning.
Cheers,
-Grant
P.S. You must checkout this link! It is about a Microsoft developer that has created a robot capable of playing with his dog, well done! Although I sure hope it doesn't take us out of business. ;) He'd need a pack of robots lol.

~ Boogie Down With Bogie ~

Get a load of Bogie!
He is a darling, spunky, three month old, fourteen pound, Boston Terrier that had his assessment at Fort Fido this morning. This pup was something else... Bogie came in looking all sweet and innocent but his true colors shined in a short amount of time haha. He tore it up (played hard) instantly with the best that the Little Roll had to offer. We are certain that Bogie will be heading down to the Medium Roll rather soon, it's a good thing, he's ready for the next level of play! Hopefully Bogie will get a chance to meet Mama Beija before he goes Medium. He had a boisterously fun time here and we look forward to seeing him again soon.
Enjoy your day,
-Grant
P.S. Here is just a taste of the Little Bogster in action... I'm sure there will be some better clips of this guy in time, he's an animal. Also, he was tricky to get a picture of, you could imagine why, he was surging with life and ready to roam. There's never time for a photo-op lol.

Chewy!

There is no doubt that this morning's assessment was a winner. The delightful Chewy started today and he did excellent! I'm partial to Aussie's and Sheltie's so that definitely helped him hahaha... He is a Tri-colored, Miniature Australian Shepherd mix, 28 pounds and eight months old. My guess is that the mix is Shetland Sheepdog but who knows? Check out some clips of Chewy below, he fell in love with our little Boston Terrier mix Sofee, she can give any dog a run for it's money!
Enjoy the sunshine this weekend,
-Grant
P.S. Mr. Teddy, a Shih Tzu/Daschund mix, is two years old today. Happy Birthday Ted!

Tula Two Clips
Some pups are hard to catch playing on camera, others won't get out of the shots lol. Tula is a great new dog however she hasn't established a set Fort Fido routine (and her owners are away this week). This makes her play hit and miss, a bit elusive to capture on film (due to a rocked routine). Fortunately I got some quick shots this afternoon, take a look!
Take care,
-Grant
P.S. The other pups playing with Tula are Marty Skully (Irish Terrier Mix) and Sofee (Boston Terrier Mix).
