Jett and Max
Jett was yesterday's assessment! This fuzzy guy eagerly joined our Medium Dog Program Tuesday morning... He's twenty two pounds and five months old. We enjoyed watching Jett meander around his new play area, and we are looking forward to seeing him again.
Max was yesterday's assessment. He's a twenty pound, five year old mixed terrier that joined our Small Dog Program. Max was our observer of the morning; he was very curious and showed major interest in our balls. Max's older brother Vince has been attending here for about a year now, in our Large Dog Program.
Max and Jett are both welcome to return for more Fort Fido fun whenever they please. Have a good rest of your week!

Tugs
I've never seen a Boston Terrier with this brindle fur pattern in person before; Tugs was such a cute little thing... We were surprised to see how much energy and personality he had- being eleven years old. Tugs had lots of fun exploring and making new friends. It was apparent that it wasn't his first time at the rodeo! I could tell this guy had gone to other daycares before, because of how well he "spoke dog". Tugs is welcome to come back whenever, and have as much fun in our Medium Dog Program as he wants.
I hope you all enjoy your Friday!

Arya
Arya was our adorable assessment from today... This sweetie-pie is a twenty pound Husky, that's only three months old! She joined our Medium Dog Program
with lots of curiosity and personality. She made numerous amounts of friends and took a particular liking to Dutch and Louis! Feel free to watch them play in this goofy video below...
Eventually Arya will join the bigger pups in our Large Dog Program- once her energy level rises, and she grows a bit.
I hope you all stay warm and dry tonight,

Pinecone
Pinecone was yesterday's dashing assessment. He's a six in a half year old, sixty two pound Brittany Spaniel that made a great addition to our Medium Dog Program. Pinecone had a grand time mingling with his new buddies, sniffing butts, wagging his tail, and showing great Dog Speak. It was apparent that he got more and more comfortable, as the morning progressed.
We look forward to seeing him soon, when he comes back to board for a while!
Have a good rest of your day,
~Shaunte'

Olive
Olive was our three month old, twenty three pound assessment today... She's a Yellow Lab
with a whole lot of personality, and happiness to share with everyone. We noticed right off the bat that it wasn't going to take long for this girl to make some friends. As soon as she started meeting the other dogs that came to our Medium Dog Program today, she was a social butterfly.
Check out this photo for example. It's obvious that she loves being around others of her own kind. Doesn't she look happy?
Olive made several friends but her favorite buddy of the day was Phinnie, check them out romping around!
We even got some photos of her playing...
Check out those ears!
We're looking forward to seeing this fun, young one soon. Have a good week,

Douglas, Miso, and Geddy
Douglas was our dashing assessment that joined our Medium Dog Program yesterday morning. He weighs thirty pounds, is nine months old, and is some type of Australian Shepherd Mix. His day started on a great note because as soon as he arrived for the morning, he saw his friend pulling in right after him! Luna is a Standard Poodle puppy who joined us earlier this month. She's been enjoying her time here, so Douglas wanted to come on by and see what the fun is all about.
Miso and Geddy were our assessments for today. Both of them were very curious and ready to explore as soon as they entered our doors. They showed good dog speak, and Miso even found a few toys that he enjoyed playing with! Miso is seven years old weighs fourteen pounds, and is a Lhasa Apso! Geddy is ten years old, weighs eleven pounds and is a Shih Tzu.
All three dogs are welcome to come back and have more fun here whenever they want.
Take care,
~Shaunte'

Phinnie
Phinnie is the newest member to our Medium Dog Program. She's only four months old, so she still has some growing and maturing to do. As she gets bigger and gains more energy, she'll probably graduate to our Large Dog Program. Phinnie is a Bernese Mountain Dog, and only weighs thirty one pounds; females usually reach anywhere from 79-110 pounds! This girl passed her assessment with flying colors... She came in here alert, and ready to mingle and meet! We were able to capture her in action-playing with some of her new friends.
Watch 'em below...
Have a wonderful day,

Sidney entered our front doors and she was curious about this new place she has never been to before. She made her way into our Medium Dog Program and right away was ready to meet others. Nala
Nala entered Fort Fido comfortably this morning. Nala is a cute 10 month-old Lab/Border collie mix that entered Fort Fido confidently and strolled right into our medium dog program. She has a sister that already attends Fort Fido named Dixie. Within our medium dog program, Nala began to meet the others as they came in throughout the day. She showed good dog speak and began to play with the others after becoming comfortable with her surroundings. Unlike the Naga from Warcraft III, Nala likes to mingle & play with dogs rather than water beings like the Naga. Nala fits in well with the rest of the pups and we, as well as the other dogs, are looking forward to seeing Nala again.

It didn't take him long to start making new friends!

Rigby & Rome
Say hello to this handsome guy, Rigby. He's a little over three months old and weighs only twenty pounds; this boy has some growin to do! Rigby entered The Fort with confidence and ease when we met him Thursday morning. He was a very curious and young-spirited little puppy that was ready to burn some energy! One of the first dogs he met was a year old Goldendoodle named Maile that joined us around this time last year. Check out the two of them meeting for the first time in the videos below.
This video was filmed right after Maile arrived for the day. As you can see, it didn't take them long to become buddies.
Here they are goofing off and being silly with each other.
Rome was today's assessment. This sweetie is a two year old, sixty pound, Labrador Retriever. She joined our Medium Dog Program a little shy; she wandered around the play area and sniffed everything she could find but once she became familiar with her surroundings, she defiantly came out of her shell. She particularly took a great liking to one of The Fort's regulars, Petey.
Check em out having a blast together below!
Here she is mingling among the pack- but ends up going back to playing with Petey in the end. Lol
Both Rigby and Rome are welcome to come back anytime! I hope you all enjoyed your Fridays,
~Shaunte'

Leah
Leah is a well socialized three in a half year old, thirty seven pound Beagle/Fox Terrier mix that joined our Medium Dog Program early Tuesday morning. She was very curious as she first entered her new play area and began to meet her new daycare friends.
Leah's family found her at the Purdy Prison Pet Partnership Program five months ago. The program is a non-profit organization located at the Women's Correction Center in Gig Harbor.
Their goal as an organization is to help train and prepare their inmates for pet-industry related jobs once they resume their lives outside of the prison. Leah was there for a whole year before Char and Bob adopted her.
Fort Fido completely supports the program and thinks it's a great idea. In fact, we've actually helped them in the past with donations!

All in all, Leah had a great first day at The Fort and is welcome to come back anytime.
Have a wonderful evening,
Shaunte'

She casually made her way into our Medium Dog Program. Within our Medium Dog Program Pippa met many other pups and began to romp around the entire program. She spent a lot of time playing with Zoey. Independence of Ragnar!
Happy Independence Day! =)
Today we welcomed Ragnar! Ragnar is a young 12 week-old, 20 lb pup. We saw him get out of the car, joyfully making his way into the lobby. After he strolled into our Medium Dog Program, Ragnar realized that he could relax and play here. He played with JoJo, another new Fort Fido pup. Take a peek at their fun below!
Ragnar is welcome to return for more fun with his newly made friends.
Have a fun and safe Independence Day,

Bear & Lulu
Bear came in for his assessment Tuesday morning and I must say, he had a blast! Bear is an eight year old chocolate lab/mix that weighs sixty five pounds and has the energy of an energetic puppy. He came in here a little shy, but once we introduced him to our Medium Dog Program he met Frankie, a red Labradoodle that's about a year old. They instantly bonded with each other; those two played and played like they've been friends for years. It was cool to see Bear keep up and play with a dog that's so much younger than him. Check out the clips below to see those two in action!
This gorgeous girl joined us bright and early this morning with her tail all curly like a cinnamon bun, and her nose to the ground; she was very curious and eager to explore her new daycare. When I first saw Lulu she melted my heart. She's as soft as velvet and reminds me of a little mini Husky. She's actually a Shiba Inu that weighs sixteen pounds and is one year old. Lulu showed wonderful dog speak as she entered our Small Dog Program. She scoped out the area, and became familiar with her new pack as she mingled around, sniffing everything and wagging her tail.
I think Bear and Lulu will get a lot out of coming here for daycare. They're both happy, energetic dogs and I'm looking forward to seeing them again.
Have a good night,
~Shaunte

Zoe
This morning we had the pleasure of meeting this cute girl, Zoe. She's a three year old, 40 pound Australian Cattle Dog Shepherd Mix. Zoe joined our Medium Dog Program a little shy at first. As the morning progressed, she became familiar of all the new smells and pups eager to meet her, and that seemed to help her climb out of her shell. We look forward to seeing Zoe again and watch her progress as she gets to know her new pack.
I hope you all have a wonderful evening.
