Crystal

This sweet girl, is the one who greeted us this morning at 6:30... We immediately noticed that Crystal was ready for a day of play, and is very smart too. She's only one year old, and is a Husky Mix! Crystal was full of all kinds of confidence the moment we welcomed her to the Large Dog Program. It seemed like she had a goofy pep in her step, whenever she would go up and try to initiate playing with another dog. We were lucky enough to capture her playing below...

Check her out!

Crystal is going to be returning for some boarding fun tomorrow; we are looking forward to her staying the night with us!

I hope you all have a marvelous week,
~Shaunte'

Arya

Arya was our adorable assessment from today... This sweetie-pie is a twenty pound Husky, that's only three months old! She joined our Medium Dog Program
with lots of curiosity and personality. She made numerous amounts of friends and took a particular liking to Dutch and Louis! Feel free to watch them play in this goofy video below...

Eventually Arya will join the bigger pups in our Large Dog Program- once her energy level rises, and she grows a bit.

I hope you all stay warm and dry tonight,
~Shaunte'

Elsa

We welcomed this beauty in our doors this morning. Say hello to Elsa, the one year old, fifty pound Husky/Cattle Dog mix. Her brother Bear, has been coming to The Fort a little over a year now and he's a pretty awesome dog, so we were excited to meet Elsa. She sure knew how to "leeeeet it gooooo" and have a fun time here on her first day. She greeted her new playmates by sniffing them, and mingling with the pack. She already fits in with everyone wonderfully and we think after several other visits she'll make this place her second home.

Elsa is welcome to come back and hang out alongside her brother any time she pleases.
Have a nice and relaxing evening everyone; you're halfway there to Friday! Yay!

Bear & Lulu

Bear came in for his assessment Tuesday morning and I must say, he had a blast! Bear is an eight year old chocolate lab/mix that weighs sixty five pounds and has the energy of an energetic puppy. He came in here a little shy, but once we introduced him to our  Medium Dog Program he met Frankie, a red Labradoodle that's about a year old. They instantly bonded with each other; those two played and played like they've been friends for years. It was cool to see Bear keep up and play with a dog that's so much younger than him. Check out the clips below to see those two in action!

This gorgeous girl joined us bright and early this morning with her tail all curly like a cinnamon bun, and her nose to the ground; she was very curious and eager to explore her new daycare. When I first saw Lulu she melted my heart. She's as soft as velvet and reminds me of a little mini Husky. She's actually a Shiba Inu that weighs sixteen pounds and is one year old. Lulu showed wonderful dog speak as she entered our Small Dog Program. She scoped out the area, and became familiar with her new pack as she mingled around, sniffing everything and wagging her tail.

I think Bear and Lulu will get a lot out of coming here for daycare. They're both happy, energetic dogs and I'm looking forward to seeing them again.

Have a good night,
~Shaunte

Rovery Rogue

Yesterday we welcomed the lovely Rogue to the Fort! Rogue is a 8 month-old, 53 lbs., Husky.  Rogue strolled right into our Large Dog Program and began to meet with the others. It wasn't long before she warmed up and began to play. Rogue spent her time here getting to know the other rascals within our Large Dog Program.

Have a nice day,

Gung ho Gunner!

This morning we assessed the enthusiastic Gunner. He is a ten month old, forty-two pound, Husky, maybe Ridgeback (our guess), Mixed Breed. Gunner stayed with us in The Fort's Medium Roll, and fit in nicely with the other dogs right away. He met up with Logan first thing, and the two hit it off incredibly well. Gunner is a smart young canine, that is all about having a good time, and socializing whole-heartedly with the pack... He's certainly our kind of dog. Good on ya today Gunner, you're welcome to stay at Fort Fido anytime.

Here are three awesome clips of Gunner gunnin' it!

Be well,

Smokey The Dog

This morning we assessed Smokey. He is a kind, one year old, one hundred and thirty pound, white, black, and tan colored, German Shepherd/Husky Mix. Smokey was instantly curious upon arriving at The Fort. He ventured into the Big roll, where he began his jaunt, sniffing around a lot, and wagging his tail joyfully. It was as if he knew, he would be in for a good morning. We introduced Smokey to several different pack members, and he greeted them in a very healthy and calm manner. He was adept at canine communication, seemingly happy to greet any dog interested in him. Given his personality, it is clear that Smokey goes to the Steilacoom Dog Park to socialize on a regular basis. Although he didn't do much "play" in the classical sense, Smokey moved about the Big Roll at a steady pace, with what appeared to be a smile on his face. He has a bit of an "Alpha Presence", and is a jolly, yet regal, fella. It will be neat if he decides to play, however he's getting a lot out of Dog Daycare with his current actions. We are happy to have Smokey at Fort Fido anytime.

Enjoy that weekend,

-Grant

Finally its Friday.

Well to cap off this week I figured we could all use some chuckles.

first off, some weird things to say to a human, that we say to our dogs all the time

If my dog actually WAS a human I think it would go a little something like this

Next a dog with about as much talent as any mainstream pop singer now-a-days haha!
im sure a record deal is on the way!

hopefully you got a few good guffaws from these clips, I know I did :)

Have a great weekend and we'll catch ya next week!
