Jett and Max
Jett was yesterday's assessment! This fuzzy guy eagerly joined our Medium Dog Program Tuesday morning... He's twenty two pounds and five months old. We enjoyed watching Jett meander around his new play area, and we are looking forward to seeing him again.
Max was yesterday's assessment. He's a twenty pound, five year old mixed terrier that joined our Small Dog Program. Max was our observer of the morning; he was very curious and showed major interest in our balls. Max's older brother Vince has been attending here for about a year now, in our Large Dog Program.
Max and Jett are both welcome to return for more Fort Fido fun whenever they please. Have a good rest of your week!

Abby, Oskar, & Agnes
Abby was our teeny tiny, cute little assessment from Thursday! She's only three months old, and has a lot of personality and spunk. Abby is a Shih Tzu that only weighs two pounds... We knew from the moment she entered our Small Dog Program, that she was going to make a great addition to The Fort. She had some pep in her step, as she playfully trotted over to Maisy; the first dog we introduced her to. Her tail was wagging up a storm! We were able to catch her Dog Speak on video, check her out below!
If your heart didn't melt from watching that video, these photos should do the trick!
We will be seeing Abby again for boarding next week! She's also going to come in certain days out of the month, to bring her in for some daycare fun, and socialization! We look forward to seeing her return.
This adorable Dachshund was one of our assessments from today! He's six years old, weighs around nineteen pounds and joined our Small Dog Program. It was clear that this wasn't his first time at the rodeo... Oskar has had previous experience with being at other Daycares before. He was quick to explore our picnic table and scope out the place!
Agnes also assessed and joined our Small Dog Program today- as she's Oskar's younger sister... This little girl is only ten months old, and weighs a whole of six pounds! Can you guess what type of dog she is? Agnes is a Chinese Crested, having more hair than this breed typically does. She was a little nervous at first since she hasn't really had much interaction with dogs her size, besides her brother. As the morning progressed we noticed her opening up a bit, and start to gain confidence as she was greeting dogs by sniffing their butts. In the dog world, sniffing another dog's butt should be the first thing they do when they greet each other. It's how they pick up on scent the best, and remember who the dog is if they've met before. It's proper dog etiquette; just like shaking someones hand when you meet them for the first time, is expected.
All three of these dogs are welcome to come back for more Fort Fido fun, whenever they want.
Happy Friday all,
~Shaunnte'

Tula was our gorgeous assessment from this morning. She walked in here with some pep in her step, as she made her way to our Small Dog Program! This sweet little girl only weighs thirteen pounds and is eight years old; she's a Miniature Schnauzer. We enjoyed watching Tula explore her new play area and are looking forward to seeing her soon, for some boarding fun!
Have a good night,

Riley & Hazel
Riley was our assessment from Friday. She's a mini Australian Shepherd that weighs nineteen pounds, and is six in a half years old. This gorgeous girl showed great "Dogspeak" when she met all her new friends. She did a lot of mingling, sniffing, and exploring of our Small Dog Program. It was nice getting to know her as the morning progressed.
Hazel walked in here like she owned the place, this morning! She had some pep in her step, as we wondered up to the Puppy Program. This sweetheart is only three months old, and weighs almost eight pounds. Can you guess what breed she is? You're probably guessing Pug, am I correct? Well, you're halfway there; Hazel is a Puginese! Which is: 3/4 Pug and 1/4 Pekingese. She had a wonderful time meeting and greeting all the dogs that attended our Small Dog/Puppy Program today. She even made a friend! Check her out in action below...
We are looking forward to getting to know this two as they start coming to The Fort more often!
I wish you all a happy week,

Dizzy
Dizzy was today's assessment that arrived earlier this morning. He's a three year old, four pound Bolognese that went up and joined our Small Dog Program.
From the first moment I saw him, I knew instantly this guy has one soft coat- and he does... He kind of reminds me of a cuddly, fluffy teddy bear. I enjoyed watching Dizzy became more and more comfortable with his new surroundings. He showed great dog speak, and started to socialize a little bit, before he left. I have a feeling this guy is going to make some friends next time he returns!
Have a good day,

Fonzie and Penny
Fonzie was one of our assessments this morning. He's a Terrier mix that weighs twenty two pounds and is only seven months old. This little guy mingled with the dogs in our Small Dog Program and had a great time learning the rules of daycare, and how to hang out with the rest of his new friends.
P.S, does his name make you think of someone- particularly someone who used to be pretty famous? Yes, Fonzie was named after the coolest "bad boy" around, The Fonz!
Penny was our other adorable assessment. She's an eleven month old, Yorkshire Terrier
that weighs eleven pounds! We noticed right away that this girl is very aware of her surroundings; she doesn't miss much. She's a keen dog that had a fun time doing her thing today, and learning where her place is at, within the pack. She even made a new friend with a Wired Fox Terrier, named Bella Adele.
Have a marvelous evening,
~Shaunte'

Tobin & Finnegan
Tobin was yesterdays bright and cheery assessment. She's a one year old, sixteen pound Puggle that joined our Small Dog Program! Tobin spoke great dog, and acted like she was a natural in this type of environment. She also enjoyed running with the rest of her new playmates, and chasing them everywhere!
Finnegan was today's social butterfly. He's ten months old, and weighs thirty five pounds! This handsome guy is an Irish Terrier full of all kinds of life and spunk. Finnegan was all over the place; he made many friends on his first day including: Zoey, Ernie and one of our newest members, Noel.
Check out Finnegan playing with Noel in the video below!
Tobin and Finnegan are more than welcome to come back for my daycare fun.
Have a marvelous Wednesday,

Kai, Skye, & Gizmo
Yesterday was a busy day for us because we had the pleasure of welcome three dogs for their assessments- that were all from the same family. They all did wonderfully and passed with flying colors!
Kai was the first one that really ventured out and showed interest in playing! He's an eight year old, twenty pound Shih Tzu. Kai's first buddy was an Italian Greyhound named Barkley.
Skye is a twelve year old Shih Tzu as well, that weighs twelve pounds. She seemed to enjoy her short stay with us and was very well mannered. We noticed that she showed great Dog Speak! I love her expressive eyebrows!
And last but not least, it's Gizmo! He's a super energetic dog that's eight years old and weighs eighteen pounds. Gizmo was such a happy and friendly dog. Both him, and his two other siblings all joined our Small Dog Program.
Kai, Skye, and Gizmo are all welcome to come back for more daycare fun in the future! I'm looking forward to seeing them again someday.
Have a marvelous Thursday night, tomorrow's Friday. WOOP WOOP!

Welcome Arthur! Arthur is a 3 year-old, 15 lbs., king charles cavalier. He came into Fort Fido ready to investigate the surroundings his sibling Maximus enjoys. Arthur got to meet many pups within our Small Dog Program today and was sociable with them. He more so enjoyed playing with the toys, but still had a great time around the others. We are glad that we were able to meet Arthur today.Have a wonderful day,

Pebbles
This morning we had the pleasure of meeting Pebbles. Pebbles is a 3 year-old, 13 lbs., Chihuahua & Pug mix. She has a sibling (and play friend) named Cheya whom also attends Fort Fido. Pebbles casually made her way into our Small Dog Program where she began to explore. Her explorations did not end there! She then began to meet the other pups as they arrived and had a blast with them. Pebbles was able to relax and have a great time today while making some new friends. We are looking forward to seeing both Pebbles and Cheya in the future.

Danny & Zoe
Today we welcomed Danny and Zoe, two cute Dachshunds. Danny is a short-haired Dachshund while Zoe is a long-haired Dachshund. These two pups were excited to begin their day with us. They went up the stairs and into our Small Dog Program. Within our Small Dog Program, both Danny & Zoe explored the Small Dog Program to their hearts content. After their expedition of the program, Danny began to romp about as the other dogs entered. Zoe took a slower route, but warmed up and began to have fun too. They both looked like they had a blast here and we are looking forward to seeing Danny & Zoe return for more fun times soon!Have a wonderful day,

Tigger
Today's assessment is the newest member to the Garrett family, who have been customers of The Fort since 2013 when they brought their first dog, Roxy, here for her assessment. Much like Roxy, Tigger is an energetic eight pound, five month old Jack Russell Terrier. He joined our Small Dog Program with ease and curiosity. Tigger is a cute little guy with a whole lot of life and personality in him.
We look forward in seeing Tigger return here and join his big sister in on all our daycare fun!
Enjoy your evening,

Beautiful Barney
Today we welcomed Barney. Barney is a beautiful (and soft) 8 year-old, 23 lbs., Dachshund. I may be partial to Dachshund's because I have one, but that doesn't mean I can bypass Barney's assessment (darn!). We still had to make sure that Barney would be a good fit here at The Fort. Barney seemed like he was ready for a new adventure as soon as he arrived and strolled right into our Small Dog Program. Barney spent his time meeting the others and learning what Fort Fido is all about. I am looking forward to seeing Barney's cute face again.

Beau
Yesterday morning we met this little guy for his assessment. He's a two year old, fourteen pound, rescued Shih-poo . It didn't take long for this little guy to venture off and make some new friends once we introduced him to our Small Dog Program. I loved how spunky and energetic he looked when he played. He sort of hopped around our play area like he had springs in his legs.
We're looking forward to seeing Beau again.
I hope you all have a marvelous night!~Shaunte'

Eva & Maximus
Eva joined our Small Dog Program yesterday morning with grace and ease. She's a three year old, Maltese/ Yorkshire Terrier/Poodle Mix that weighs ten pounds. When she first entered her new play area, she romped around with the other dogs, scoped out her surroundings, and discovered one of our cool benches where she then jumped onto and hung out; looking all pretty. I think her name definitely suits her. She's just about as graceful as the famous, Ava Gardner herself.
This morning we welcomed Maximus into The Fort for his assessment. He's a very handsome one in a half year old Boxer that weighs forty five pounds. We noticed right away that this one is a social butterfly. He had a lot of fun meeting and greeting his new dog friends, and played quite a bit. He fit right in with all the other dogs in our Large Dog Program just as if he was the missing puzzle piece.
Both Eva and Max are more than welcome to come back whenever they please.
Have a wonderful night.

Lucy & Latte
Latte was today's assessment and she passed with flying colors. Unlike Lucy, Latte is not a puppy. She's a twelve year old Labrador Retriever that weighs seventy pounds. Latte doesn't let her age defy her energy though. She kept up with the younger dogs and even made a few new friends. It looks like that energetic personality trait is something that her and Lucy have in common.
What's nice about Fort Fido is that whether your dog is big or small, young are old, we have a specific program for them. All good and healthy dogs are welcome here! We don't let age get in the way. Have a wonderful evening everyone.
