This morning we had the pleasure of assessing Nina. She is a seven year old, sixty pound, silver colored, Weimaraner. Lucky for us, Nina, has been a long time Dog Daycare and Overnight Boarding attendee, at facilities in and around Seattle... Making her a versatile dog, that is more than comfortable around a pack. She has a calm and mature disposition, akin to our Ginger of the Big Roll. Nina did great in the Big Roll play area, where she pretty much acted as though she'd been here times before. This sweet gal didn't play a whole heck of a lot, however she did "meet and greet" with the other canines healthily. Nina meandered bout the play area, socializing and getting familiar with her new surroundings. She is one neat dog that is welcome to hangout at The Fort anytime. Wonderful job today Nina! We hope to see you again soon.
Cheers,
-Grant

Welcome to the pack, Ginger!
Today we welcomed Ginger, a two and a half year old Lab Mix. She came to see us because of the expert advice of her buddy, Sophie Alice. Ginger is a very sweet tempered, and curious pup. She had lots of new scents to check out, not only in the lobby but back with the pack as well.
Not quick to jump into play, but very nice and spoke great dog! I'm sure that once Ginger becomes accustomed to the environment here at The Fort she will start to open up and play more with the other Big Rollers. Ginger was lucky to have found and been found by such amazing owners, at the humane society approx. 6 1/2 months ago. We're happy to have her and looking forward to seeing her again soon!

- Ginger -
This last Sunday, The Fort had the pleasure of assessing Miss Ginger. Ginger is a six year old, sixty-five pound, Vizsla. Nowadays, we have quite a few Vizslas at Fort Fido, and I can see why. They are striking dogs, that are vey clean, agile and intelligent... Ginger was no exception! She hung out in the Big Roll and could definitely hold her own. She spoke great "Dog" and socialized a wee bit. Unfortunately, she didn't bust out into a lot of "play", but we figure she will as she becomes more accustomed to our facility. One neat fact, is that Ginger's neighbor/boyfriend is the ever-so-dashing, Martin Skully, who has been a longtime Fido Regular. We hope to see their paths cross in here soon. Wonderful work Sunday Ginger!Take care,
-Grant

Ginger and Macey keep them groovin'
Hotdog! I thought the clip we scored yesterday was good... Get a load of these two clips from today.
First up, we see Ginger runnin' amok (BTW I'm using that phrase in a jokingly good way lol.) upstairs in the Little Roll. She has been having a blast here at The Fort since her first day. She also has been getting the Little Pack to engage in lots of play... Not just ball time play. From wrastlin' to chase-me games, this little dog does it all with any pup that can keep up. Gherie, Marlee, and Riley, were just a few of Ginger's chums this visit.
In the Medium Roll, Ginger's big sister, Macey, had her "Whirling Dervish" impression on par with Gingers hahaha. Macey has been playing strong with several dogs from our ranks. Today, she sprinted around the most, with young dogs Pancake and Sammy.
Take it easy,
-Grant
P.S. If you like Tim Burton, his style, and or, quirky canine-related films lol... Checkout "Frakenweenie"! It is available in those Redbox machines right now. It's a great movie, especially if you enjoyed The Nightmare Before Christmas or Coraline.

Ginger & Macey
Meet Ginger & Macey, two swell dogs, from the same family, that assessed this morning.
Ginger, is a four month old, eleven pound, red & black colored, Shiba Inu. She did rather well upstairs in the Little Roll. Ginger is a very sweet spirited canine. She played with Dixie, Pearl and just about any dog that was game.
Macey, is a one year old, about twenty pound, black & white colored, Border Collie. Now at first, Macey was not sure why she was here lol... But, once she began to figure things out in the Medium Roll, she started having lots of fun. This dog wasted no time getting in on the action, once she was situated. Macey enjoyed herself, playing with Marley and Sammy, among others.
Both Ginger and Macey were a pleasure to take care of today. We highly anticipate their return!
Take care,
-Grant

Some more of our lovely greeting cards
Take a look, click on each picture to enlarge. Louis's card was another one of my favorites, how creative haha! He always has quite a look on his old Bulldog mug.

We received several marvelous cards this year and we thank you all very much!
I only scanned the cards that had our Fido dogs on them to show my Blog fans. Don't feel left out... We've put every card received up in the lobby for all to see.
:)
Have a great day!

_ - = Roll Clips = - _
Here are a few we captured today.
There was a lot of feisty action upstairs in the Little Roll. Not sure what got in the water lol but every dog seemed to want to "wrestle play". Good times! You can find Buddy, Chloe, Frizzy, Ginger, Pearl and Raleigh in the thick of it.
The Medium Roll had Miss Tikvah at it again... She's growing like a weed and doing first rate. She finally got the ever so popular medium-gal Sofie to play with her. Zeus, is a big Tikvah fan and so is Gibson, surprise, surprise!
Take it easy today,

Tikvah (and others) doing great!
Got some neat clips today... Tikvah, in particular, has really been blossoming here at The Fort. She is now a member of our Medium Roll. Tikvah has grown a bit and plays hard, those are the factors the facilitated the move. :) Since being with the medium group, she has been doing exceptionally well. Check it out!
Watch this next clip, Ginger, is one of the most agile dogs we have here. She almost does a full back flip, attempting to snatch the ball mid-air, in the beginning of this one.
The last clip is some ball from the Little Roll and play from the best friend-"Rebel Rousers" Chloe & Pearl. You can hear our newest employee, Kelsey, just making sure the pups aren't getting too wild. ;)
Leaving y'all with a few news articles found this afternoon:
Training a dog to stop jumping up (Always a tricky one, we get asked about it often.)
When it's time to sue over poop (Heaven forbid!)
Halloween tips for you and your dog (Posted one like this last week, there is always some good stuff in articles like this.)
Take it easy,

Pee-Wee !
(No, not this guy, although I admit I did watch his playhouse haha.)
Meet Pee-Wee! He is a rad little six year old, eight pound, Yorkshire Terrier that was assessed this morning. Pee-Wee did very well in our Little Roll upstairs and passed his assessment with flying colors. He enjoyed meeting and greeting the other dogs, played a bit and fell in love with Fort Fido regular Ginger lol, she's a heart-breaker! We hope to see more of Pee-Wee, he is surely welcome anytime.
In the following clip from the Little Roll you can spot Pee-Wee meandering, his tail is wagging and he portrays a relaxed doggy disposition. A wonderful first day!
Take it easy today, our PC problems are finally over, hooray!
-Grant
P.S. A special thank you to Gary for all of his tech help!

Please welcome our newest Buddy!

The o so lovable Buddy was in for his assessment this morning... He has had it planned out for some time now and is finally eligible. He is the brother of the beloved Hunter.
Buddy is a handsome, three month old, five pound, Black and White, Shih Tzu. We took him upstairs and boy did he flourish. He was raring to go, happy, excited and curious. Everything you would want in a new young pup, especially one on their first round of The Fort.
Buddy spoke pretty good dog for a baby rascal, he also frolicked some with the others. I was told he fell in love with Ginger, a long time Fort Fido friend, she is a spunky, Miniature Australian Shepherd.
Right on Buddy! We know we'll be seeing lots of you, rest up and be ready for more action! :)
Take care,
-Grant
P.S. Just a heads up, we have another Basic Obedience and Leadership class, featuring trainer Garrett Stevens, scheduled (May 31st - June 16th)... Get signed up if you are interested.
