Yesterday morning, The Fort Crew got to meet Donar. He is a very active, two year old, seventy pound, German Wirehaired Pointer. Upon entering our lobby doors, it was clear that Donar was not shy, and was ready to rock! He stepped into the Big Roll easily, ready to get his "Dog" on lol. Although he vibrates excitedly with energy, Donar is very polite, and has keen canine communication skills. He made quite a few pals in the Big Dog Play Are, and seemed to take pleasure in being here. We look forward to having Donar in again, and we hope he got a bit of his energy burnt off. Good work Donar, rest up, we'll see you for some Overnight Boarding soon!
Today we welcomed Pablo to The Fort. He is a 1 year old, 65 pound, black/white Pit Bull mix. Pablo did great for his first day, he came in this morning full of energy and ready to play.
Today we met with Russell for his Assessment. He is a happy little, one year old, eighteen pound, Pug and Chihuahua Mix. Russell headed up to The Fort's Little Roll with ease. Once inside it, he sniffed about merrily, contemplating the point of his visit lol. Shortly after getting situated in the play area, we had Russell begin to meet the pack... Which he did in proper canine fashion. Russell's "meeting and greeting" was spot on and easy going. In a short time, he seemed as though he'd been a part of our pack for a long time. When it comes to playing, Russell absolutely loves it! He chased toys with a fervor, and even got into a little bit of dyadic (one on one) canine play. Russell will be a great addition to Fort Fido's Little Dog Pack and he can get a ton out of Dog Daycare here. Way to be Rus, we'll see ya around!
Checkout these great little clips of Russell enjoying his visit:
Happy Monday, I hope that everyone's Monday is off to a good start. The dogs at Fort Fido are enjoying their time with the pack today while their owners are away. The day should be a nice, warm, and comfy one today at a high of 72 degrees Fahrenheit. While out-and-about with your dog today make sure to keep them hydrated in this warm weather. During their stay at The Fort the pups are hard at play, take a look at some of the videos below.
As you know, I love to collect fun dog-related things from the web and post them up on our blog. If you come across any while surfing the web, please email them to me grant@fortfido.com
Lady came in for her Assessment Day Yesterday. She is a cool and confident, eleven year old, seventy-five pound, Labrador Retriever Mix. Lady spent her first day here in The Fort's Big Roll, where she was quite happy and content. Lady has excellent canine communication skills, and it's evident that yesterday wasn't Lady's "first time at the rodeo" lol. Because of her mature age, Lady didn't get into too much feisty play, however she did seem to be quite stimulated working out all the intricacies of the pack. Lady is one neat dog-gal, that we look forward to seeing again.
Today we assessed the clever Indy! This fella is a three year old, seventy-five pound, Labrador Retriever and German Shepherd Mix. Indy came through the doors curiously. We introduced him to the Big Roll Play Area, where he proceeded to explore with his nose to the ground. After letting him acclimate for a bit, it was time for Indy to begin to meet the pack. Meeting and greeting is no problem for the very sociable Indy, he speaks good "Dog", and makes canine buddies effortlessly... He proved this, by meeting with our XL Fort Fido regular, Theodore, first, and then becoming playmates with him almost instantly. It was good stuff to see! For the rest of the morning, Indy continued to enjoy the company of the other dogs and play wholeheartedly. Indy can get a lot out of attending Dog Daycare and we are pleased to have him here, hopefully he'll return for another visit soon.
Good morning and welcome to another Monday blog post. Today is supposed to be a nice and comfy day at a high of 60 degrees Fahrenheit. There are also supposed to be (rain) showers at some point today, so make sure that you stay dry and enjoy the warmth. Take a gander at Bodhi (that's him in the picture above), he is a shiba-inu model on instagram. There are a few of the pictures available here (and on tumblr), which are quite cute and funny (no wonder he has 191,000 followers!). Bodhi definitely looks sharp 'n cute in his pictures. Even though he looks so adorable, I could not believe that Bodhi makes ~$15k per month (wow!). It seems like it takes quite a bit of time and effort to prepare for his photo-shoots, but it is clearly well worth it! I hope that everyone has a wonderful day and enjoys this warmth.
Yesterday we met with the happy and energy-filled Daisey. She is a nine month old, forty-eight pound, Tan and White Colored Pitbull Terrier. Daisey was all "wiggles and wags" as she entered into The Fort's Big Roll. She is a very athletic canine, that is here to socialize and burn off some excess energy... And that's exactly what she did! Daisey was quick to befriend the other dogs, she made playmates effortlessly. Daisey should prove to be a wonderful addition to our Big Roll Pack. She did an outstanding job and we plan to see her more!
In the clips that follow, you can spot Daisey having an awesome time with Doug and Tucker.
This morning, we were up bright and early to Assess Maxx. He is an irresistibly-cute, three month old, twenty-one pound, English Bulldog. This little fella is going to grow up to be one big and strong canine, but for now, he's just a small pup. Maxx is here to hone his canine-communication skills and have a good time exercising. To ease him into the joint, we had Maxx start out in our Medium Roll Play Area. Once inside, he explored eagerly, knowing he'd be meeting with some other canines soon. After letting him get his bearings, we had Maxx meet up with pack members Stella and Max (Mue). That combination of dogs proved to be just perfect for Maxx. They began to wrestle play within minutes of meeting one another. Given strong leadership, time, and consistency, Maxx should grow up to be quite a calm and balanced adult dog. He has a great temperament, and is the perfect age to get into Dog Daycare. He'll get a lot out of socializing at Fort Fido. Welcome Maxx, swell job today pal!
Ruby came in to Fort Fido for her Assessment today. She is a kindly, one year old, sixty pound, Red Heeler and German Shepherd Mix. Ruby was cautious when first entering Fort Fido but after a little sniffing she was ready to enter into the large roll. Once Ruby began to meet and greet the other pups in the large roll, she realized that The Fort is a place to have fun and play while her owners are away. She first played with the energetic Chester (as seen in the video below). After playing with Chester, Ruby began to relax and take it easy, occasionally playing with Chester. We look forward to seeing Ruby return for some more play time.
Good morning, welcome to May. Spring is here, the flowers are blooming, and the dogs are relishing their time with the pack at Fort Fido. I love to watch the pups play throughout the day so we gathered some clips for you to watch. Enjoy =3
Hey y'all, congrats on making it to Friday lol... I'm going to make this post short and sweet. Today we met up with Bear for his first day. He is a very striking, three year old, fifty-one pound, Alaskan Malamute and German Shepherd Mix. Mr. Bear did well in our Big Roll during his Assessment. He got along with the other canines nicely, and exhibited fine canine communication skills. Although Bear didn't get into too much playing, he did seem to enjoy his time at The Fort. Given strong leadership, time, and consistency, we believe that Bear can get even more out of future visits to Fort Fido.
