Fido's Favorite Spots

I've compiled a mini list of Fido's Favorite "Dog Spots" in and around University Place. Here they are, in no particular order.

1. The Chambers Bay Trail & Dog Park

This doggy gem is located off of Grandview. Take an hour to walk your pooch along the stunningly beautiful, scenic, paved-trail, that snakes along  the Chambers Bay properties and it's golf course. Stop by the off-leash dog park sponsored by SUNDogs and let your dog socialize, while you take a rest on one of their benches. Water, for humans and canines, is located in a couple of spots along the trail and at the dogpark. After your workout-walk and dog park visit, you and your furry pal will be nice and tired. Trust me on that!

2. The Soggy Doggy / U.P. Best Pet Grooming

This self-serve dog washing facility is first rate. Marco Polo, Cortez and Gibson have all gave it a go. The staff is friendly and the equipment you use is of a very high quality. From a quick bath, to a full on groom with all the bells and whistles, you can D-I-Y it at The Soggy Doggy. They are Located off of 40th, not too far from Safeway. Also, don't fret if you don't know how to bathe or groom. The staff is happy to teach you and it's a fun environment to learn in. Talk about the perfect stop to make after a rockin' time with your pet at the bay. If I haven't convinced you to give this place a try, do hit up University Place Best Pet Grooming for your canine-cleaning needs. I hear they do a mighty fine job, several of our customers take their pets there and are quite pleased with the results.

3. Fircrest Vetinary Hospital

Well ya know, "The Vet", isn't always the funnest spot to be for you and yours, however, if you are in need of Professional Veterinarian services, do hit up the friendly folks at Fircrest Vet Hospital. Located right next door to Fort Fido. Fircrest Veterinary Hospital, ran by Dr. Eugenio and his staff (Angie, James, Katie, Sean, etc... Sorry if I missed you!), is absolutely superb. The doc's bedside manner is impeccable and his staff's skills are unbeatable. You and your pet will feel at ease under this facilitys care. Dr. Eugenio started working as a vet tech at 15 years old! Needless to say, this place is amazing and they know their stuff. Please give them a try.

4. Chopper's Pet Supply

Now as you know, for food, the only thing you need is Kumpi lol. If you are looking for Lupine collars and leads, look no further than The Fort. We have the largest selection of Lupine around, period. Did I mention we also have great deals on All-Natural Bully Sticks, Antler chews and other products we enjoy? Ok, enough plugging us, this last spot is supposed to be about Chopper's, but hey, it is our Blog after all ;). The truth is, we just dabble in the retail, due to the size of our lobby. This is unlike Chopper's Pet Supply in Fircrest. They specialize solely in the best dog and cat supplies you can find! They have a wonderfully wide selection of top notch pet products and their staff certainly knows what good customer service is all about. We highly recommend Chopper's, especially if your dog can't eat Kumpi for some unfortunate reason.
