Skye

Meet Skye! She is an energetic, one year old, twenty pound, Australian Cattle Dog Mix, that had her Assessment this morning at The Fort. Now although small in stature, Skye, is "big" in vigor and personality. Having that idea going into her Assessment, we thought it best to let Skye try our Medium Roll Play Area on for size, rather than the Little Roll. Energy level and body-type wise, Skye is very similar to "small" Medium Roller, Angel. Inside the play area, Skye was cautious and curious at  first, and then she turned to "lonely", as she waited, with much anticipation, for pack members to arrive. After about 15 minutes, Petey arrived on the scene, and he proved to be the perfect first dog for young Skye to meet with. The two canines skipped introductions and got right to gallivanting lol. It was a great match up, and you can see a bit of it in the following clip:

As time moved on, the pack grew, and Skye continued to enjoy herself in the company of all the other "medium" dogs. She fit in well here, and we believe that Fort Fido is the perfect outlet for Skye. She can hone her social skills, and most importantly, get out some of her excess energy. Nicely done today Skye, welcome!

Relax this weekend, Happy Valentine's Day!

-Grant
P.S. If you have a special day planned tomorrow, one that your canine companion can't help you out with... Drop them off here for the weekend, we currently have room for Daycare and Overnight Boarding.

Shining Button

Today we got to Assess the excited young pup, Button, who yes, is as cute as one lol. She is a three month old, twenty pound, cream colored, Labradoodle. Button strolled right into The Fort today, eager to play with Angel in the medium roll (seen in the video below). Button shined all morning having fun socializing with the pack. We look forward to having Button return for some more fun.

Stay happy & dry,
- Zach

A little Angel

Take a gander at this endearing little canine, Angel. She is a sweet, seven year old, five pound, Lhasa Apso. Angel had her assessment this morning at The Fort. We had her visit the Little Roll, which turned out to be just right for her. A very nice dog, Angel, stayed cool, calm, and collected during her visit. It is clear that she has been socialized well, due to her easy-going attitude. Angel seemed pretty relaxed right from the start, which is always great to see... It's certainly not her "first time at the rodeo" lol. She met with the other canines gently and effortlessly, fitting into the group without a hitch. She didn't get involved in much play, yet she appeared to be having a fine time. We are happy to welcome Angel to our Little Dog Pack. Her well-balanced energy will really be beneficial up there!

Cheers,

-Grant
P.S. Ahhh, I almost forgot, one interesting fact about Angel, is that she only has one eye! Unfortunately, I don't have the story on that yet... I'll have to find out soon. That'll be the second Fort Fido Member with only one eye, neat. Like the three-legged canines we've met over the years, these one-eyed dogs, have also adapted magnificently.

A little Angel

Well, this year's Fall Fun/Safety Day photos will have to wait...

I must introduce you to Angel, who had her Assessment today at The Fort. She is a seven month old, twenty pound, Puggle and Terrier Mix. Although this picture doesn't do Angel justice, her face does live up to her name lol, she's a real cutie! This kindly little dog-gal, is small in stature yet has a bit of a "wild side". We were told she plays with a German Shepherd quite regularly. Given that info, we chose to let Angel try out The Medium Roll. Once she got settled in there, she meandered, exploring the play area slowly. She soon got to meet with Bogie and Petey, who pulled out all the stops to get her to play. Being that it was her first day at Dog Daycare, Angel was a wee bit timid, and never ended up playing. You could see however, that she wanted to play. Angel got along just fine with the other dogs, it was just that she was a little over whelmed by the experience. We believe that she just needs some time and consistency, here at Fort Fido, to really blossom. Working with Angel on her slight Separation Anxiety, will also help her become, and stay, the "Dog's Dog" that she truly is. She'll definitely play here, it's only a matter of time... Especially once more of a routine is established at home, and for visiting here. Not a bad job today Angel, we plan to see you again, and see you bust out into some play soon!

Take care,

-Grant

Aero & Angle

Checkout Aero & Angel!

Aero is a fun-loving, one year old, 37 pound, Border Collie & Corgi Mix.

Aero's sis, Angel, is a gorgeous, one year old, 40 pound, Australian Cattle Dog Mix.

Both Aero and Angel had their assessments this morning in the Medium Roll. Like we anticipated, Aero, went head first into the action. He wasted no time getting to know the other pack members, playing with several of them whole-heartedly. Angel on the other hand, spoke great "Dog" like her bro, but took her time getting to know the others. She has a very sweet demeanor, and acts quite "lady-like"... Leaving the rough housing play to brother Aero.

These two canines were a pleasure to have at Fort Fido today, and they are welcome back anytime. Well done you two! Here's to seeing you again soon!

Cheers,

-Grant
