Pics of our Buddy and a great link from Louis

Buddy's ma Bonnie was kind enough to drop me off some great photos of the kid at home. Here he is in three cute pictures posing, looking out the window and looking out the back door.

Louis's ma Sandy sent me this video link about "Kandu" the two legged dog. This one you just gotta see, it is truly awesome, check it out!

Cheers,

Meet Merry Mooshu!

Meet Mooshu! He is a four month old, three pound, spunky little Yorkshire Terrier (Yorkie). Boy, if he doesn't win you over with his photogenicness (yup, that isn't a word lol) then his sweet personality will get ya for sure. Mooshu did well in our Little Roll upstairs. He speaks decent "dog" for a young lad and even played a bit. He's met Pearl at the dog park before but fell in love with... You guessed it, Ginger (1,2) hahaha! This is the third young pup to fall for her, those darn redheads. We look forward to seeing Mooshu again, he's a nice addition to the Little Pack.

Take it easy,

-Grant
P.S. I couldn't stop thinking about Moo shu pork when I heard this guys name, too funny. Also, Mushoo is a friend of Fort Fido long-time-big-rollers Lucas and Harriet. Their owners run a great business near us, Fircrest Children's Dentistry... Our main man Gary operates their website. What a small world with seemingly endless connections. :)

some news and a cute Pearl pic

Pearl's owner Phyllis sent me in a wonderfully cute photo of little Pearl posing sweetly. Thanks for the pic Phyllis!

Some news bits I found this afternoon...

Dog's storm phobia (Not sure how Gibby will react, luckily they don't happen often, I'm guilty of not liking storms.)

A great article on re-calls AKA "Fido come!" (Several customers chat with me about the frustration of their pet not coming when they call... I've known the feeling!)

The Zen of Dog Training (Neat stuff here, very true, stay calm... Not always easy to do.)

New Dog Game-Show (Sounds interesting, hopefully it's more than a one hour special.)

A dog at the funeral captured on video (Warning, this is a sad one.)

Happy Monday lol!

Cheerful Chaco!

Chaco is a cute little three-and-a-half year old Havanese. Since he started out on a Saturday, he got to spend his day with a mix of sizes. From little Lilly (the assessment dog yesterday), to Lila and Blue, and a couple in between! The smaller guys were very confident, even in with the big ones. While he didn't bust out too many of the moves, Chaco had a few flash-in-the-pan moments of play. He also had a lot of tail-wagging and good greeting. This is a pup who was socialized well in his puppy days.

Also from today: a good clip of everybody sharing toys!

Everybody enjoy this nice summery weekend!

Little Lilly and National Dog Day

Lilly is a six-year-old West Highland Terrier, visiting from Eastern Washington. She is very friendly with people, and she has one of the softest coats I've ever felt on a Westie. Wonder what her beauty secrets are!

She spent her time upstairs with the small guys, mostly relaxing and getting a feel for Fort Fido. She hasn't busted out with the moves just yet, but she wasn't stressed at all. Having attended daycare before, she knows the drill!

In other news, today is National Dog Day! Take a moment to show your pup some extra appreciation in honor of all they do for and give to us. This article has some amazing stories of canine selflessness, as well as some history on National Dog Day, which has been around since 2004.

That's all for now!

Hope

P.S.--Tomorrow will be your last chance to sign up for the Balanced and Calm training seminar with Garrett Stevens! Come and learn the secrets of canine communication and dog whispering. The seminar will take place on Sunday the 28th, from 11am to 12:30pm. Bring your pup with you to get the most out of the experience-even wild, crazy, hyper dogs are welcome. Join us for a lively hour-and-a-half here at Fort Fido!

A Sunny day of sprightly Sadie

In for her assessment today was young pup Sadie. She is a seven month old, fifty pound, rough-and-tumble, Golden Retriever. Sadie is perfect for the Medium Roll, she is rambunctious, very high energy but a good girl. She went straight to play with all the wild ones of our medium area. Marco Polo and Zeus were a few of her favorites. We are certain we'll be seeing more of Sadie soon. She is a healthy dog, the activeness of dog daycare is right up her alley. Way to go Sadie!

Stay cool folks,

-Grant
P.S. Here is a clip of Sadie's first meeting with Polo early in the AM, as you can see, it went well. I'm throwing in a fun clip of the Little Roll from this afternoon just for good measure. ;)

Howdy to Howie from Florida

Super-Handsome-Canine Howie had his assessment today. He is a three year old, ninety pound, "Grey Ghost" AKA Weimaraner.

Howie hails from the sunny state of Florida and has attended dog daycare in the past. A fine specimen, he did pretty well for his first day, even mixing it up a little with Fort Fido Bad Boy Ryker (not really "bad", you know what I mean lol...). Howie seemed pretty comfortable in our Big Roll and we hope he'll continue to improve his "Dog Skills" as he gets used to the place. See ya soon Howie, nice job!

Cheers,

-Grant
